    Sammanfattning : Aggressive lymphoma is a rapidly growing tumour of lymphocyte origin, potentially curable with chemotherapy. In a trial by the Nordic Lymphoma Group, 405 patients with aggressive lymphoma were included, and randomised to receive either the standard chemotherapy regimen, CHOP, or a weekly multidrug regimen, MACOP-B. 2. 2. Epidemiology of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus - Prevalence, Risk Factors, Diagnosis and Prognosis

    Författare :Daniel Jaraj; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus; Epidemiology; Dementia; Prevalence; Risk factors; Evans index; Long-term outcome; Population study;

    Sammanfattning : The number of older persons and individuals with cognitive impairment is expected to increase dramatically in most parts of the world. It is therefore important to learn more about disorders that affect cognition. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma – studies on immunohistochemical and clinical prognostic factors

    Författare :Sverker Hasselblom; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :DLBCL; prognosis; sex; population-based; apoptosis; Ki-67; CTLs; TIA-1; FOXP3; bcl-2; GCB; p-AKT;

    Sammanfattning : DLBCL, the most common lymphoma entity, is a potentially curable but heterogeneous disease. Most studies concerning therapy and prognostic factors have been performed on selected patient materials. It is important to identify immunohistochemical biomarkers which could add prognostic information to clinical factors. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Indicators of apoptosis and proliferation in haematological malignancies : with special reference to drug resistance and prognosis

    Författare :Barbara MacNamara; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Acute Myeloid Leukaemia; Non-Hodgkin s Lymphoma Drug Resistance; Predictive Factor; International Prognostic Index; Apoptosis; Proliferation; Telomerase; BCL-2; BAX; p53;

    Sammanfattning : Successful treatment of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) and high-grade non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (HG- NHL) is hampered by development of drug resistance. A better understanding of mechanisms responsible for drug resistance and the identification of factors that predict response to therapy is essential to improve treatment. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Functional studies of SOX11 and T-STAR - Translation of tumor-associated genes into clinical and biological insight

    Författare :Sandra Sernbo; Institutionen för immunteknologi; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Cancer is a disease that will affect most of us during a lifetime. Although the survival of cancer patients has incresed due to better treatment and earlier diagnosis, the prevalance of the disease is still increasing. This increase in the number of cancer cases diagnosed will impose a challenge to the cancer care and higher costs for socitey. LÄS MER
