  1. 16. More or Less IgE : Therapeutic Vaccines, Adjuvants and Genes and Their Effect on IgE Levels

    Författare :Anna Ledin; Lars Hellman; Kjell-Olov Grönvik; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell and molecular biology; IgE; Immunoglobulin; Atopic allergy; Vaccine; Adjuvant; Dog; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Immunoglobulin E (IgE) is an important mediator in atopic allergies. This thesis describes the development of a therapeutic vaccine against IgE and its effects in rats and dogs. The development of an assay to determine IgE levels in dogs, and the finding of a chromosome region in rats that affects IgE levels are also reported. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Studies of penta-decameric binding proteins: AP-4 and CBF-A

    Författare :Alaitz Aranburu; Immunologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biochemistry; transplantation; Metabolism; serologi; metabolism; Biokemi; serology; Immunology; hnRNP H; NPM; CBF-A; AP-4; transcription; B cells; immunoglobulin; Immunologi;

    Sammanfattning : Each immunoglobulin (Ig) V gene segment contains an upstream promoter region. The octamer element and the TATA box are the only elements that are conserved in all Ig promoters. The presence of the octamer element is necessary, but not sufficient to support high levels of transcription. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Molecular and Genetic Evidence for Antigen Selection in the Pathogenesis of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

    Författare :Lesley Ann Sutton; Richard Rosenquist; John Gribben; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; IGHV4-34; microenvironment; stereotypy; immunoglobulin; intraclonal diversification; clonal evolution;

    Sammanfattning : Antigens play a critical role in the development of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) by binding to and stimulating leukemic precursor cells at some point during CLL ontogeny. Nevertheless, much remains unknown and further studies are necessary before an accurate model of antigen-drive can be ascertained. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Development of immunogenicity models in mice for improved risk assessment of biopharmaceuticals

    Författare :Britta Granath; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; anti-drug antibodies; immunogenicity; biopharmaceuticals; immunoglobulin; 3R;

    Sammanfattning : The development of anti-drug-antibodies (ADA) to biopharmaceuticals, e.g. recombinant proteins including monoclonal antibodies (mAb) can lead to adverse events and clinical complications. These include reduced effect of the drug and autoimmune conditions if the administered drug is analogous to endogenous proteins. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Genetics of immunoglobulin a deficiency

    Författare :Che Kang Lim; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Immunoglobulin A deficiency (IgAD) is the most common primary immunodeficiency in Caucasian populations. It is defined as a serum IgA level below 0.07 g/L with normal IgM and IgG levels in an individual older than four years of age. LÄS MER
