  1. 1. Modeling Collective Decision-Making in Animal Groups

    Författare :Boris Granovskiy; David J. T. Sumpter; Mary R. Myerscough; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; collective animal behavior; collective intelligence; swarm intelligence; wisdom of crowds; mathematical modeling; stochastic modeling; agent-based modeling; Markov chain models;

    Sammanfattning : Many animal groups benefit from making decisions collectively. For example, colonies of many ant species are able to select the best possible nest to move into without every ant needing to visit each available nest site. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Opportunistic Networking : Mobility Modeling and Content Distribution

    Författare :Ljubica Pajevic; Gunnar Karlsson; Karin Anna Hummel; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; opportunistic networks; ad hoc networks; mobility modeling;

    Sammanfattning : We have witnessed two main trends in recent years that have shaped the current state of communication networks. First, the Internet was designed with the initial idea to provide remote access to resources in the network; today it is overwhelmingly being used for content distribution. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Spintronic and Electronic Oscillators for Magnetic Field Sensing and Ising Machines

    Författare :Dagur Ingi Albertsson; Ana Rusu; Johan Åkerman; Saul Rodriguez Duenas; Atila Alvandpour; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Spintronic Oscillator; Behavioural Modeling; Macrospin Approximation; Magnetic Field Sensor; Ising Machine; Duffing Oscillator; Kuramoto Model; Informations- och kommunikationsteknik; Information and Communication Technology;

    Sammanfattning : Oscillators can exhibit a range of complex dynamics which are often encountered in nature. These characteristics include synchronization, injection locking, chaos, bifurcations, etc. To date, the applications of electronic oscillators has mostly been limited to communication systems. 4. 4. Development of a new service-oriented modelling method for information systems analysis and design

    Författare :Prima Gustiené; Anders G Nilsson; Sten Carlsson; William Wei Song; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Information systems analysis and design; conceptual modeling; service orientation; semantic integrity; static and dynamic aspects; goal modeling.; Informatics; Informatik; Information Systems; Informatik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a new modelling method for information systems analysis and design, where the concept of service and the principles of service orientation are used for integrated modelling and reasoning about information systems architectures across organisational and technical systems boundaries. The concept of service enables cohesion of the intersubjective and objective modelling traditions by using a single type of diagram that facilitates detection of semantic inconsistency, incompleteness, ambiguity and discontinuity between the static and dynamic aspects of information systems specifications. 5. 5. Looking into the Future : How to Use Advanced Statistical Methods for Predicting Psychotherapy Outcomes in Routine Care

    Författare :Carl-Johan Uckelstam; Fredrik Falkenström; Björn Philips; Rolf Holmqvist; Sigal Zilcha-Mano; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Statistics; Machine learning; Multilevel modeling; Latent profile analysis; Prediction; Psychotherapy; Routine care; Outcome; Statistik; Maskininlärning; Latent profilanalys; Flernivåanalys; Prediktion; Psykoterapi; Rutinmässig vård; Utfall;

    Sammanfattning : Psychotherapy research has shifted from mainly focusing on the average effects of different treatments to concentrating more on questions related to the individual patient. When research attention shifts, it can give rise to the implementation of new statistical methods that, in turn, can illuminate new challenges that must be addressed. LÄS MER
