  1. 21. Fundamental studies on the high temperature corrosion mechanisms of a 22Cr austenitic stainless steel in environments related to oxy-fuel combustion

    Författare :Luciana Intiso; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; EDX; TEM; KCl; Na2SO4; SEM; FIB; high temperature oxidation; sulphur dioxide; carbon dioxide; GI-XRD; stainless steels; water vapour; GDOES; t-EBSD;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concern the high temperature corrosion mechanisms of stainless steels, with focus on a 22 wt.% Cr FeNiCr alloy (Sanicro 25), in environments related to oxy-fuel combustion, which is a promising technology that can provide enhanced CO2 recovery and sequestration from power plants by using post-combustion capture. 2. 22. Tailored cellulosic materials by physical adsorption of polyelectrolytes

    Författare :Andrew Marais; Lars Wågberg; Andreas Fery; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The growing interest in using bio-based resources has made forest-based cellulose (used as fibre and nanofibril building elements) a good candidate for the development of new materials. In order to be used in commercial applications, cellulose must however be processed and/or functionalized to provide the final material with specific properties. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Thermoelectric Devices with Electronic and Ionic Conducting Polymers

    Författare :Zia Ullah; Xavier Crispin; Magnus Berggren; Marisol Martin-Gonzalez; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Thermoelectricity; conducting polymers; thermoelectric devices;

    Sammanfattning : The energy consumption in the world is continuously growing and the sources of energy are largely dominated by fossil fuels. However, the resources of oil, gas and coal are diminishing in capacity. Moreover the CO2 emissions arising from their combustion is a great concern because it induces climate changes that threaten our habitat. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Climate Change sensitivity of Photosynthesis and Respiration in Tropical Trees

    Författare :Myriam Mujawamariya; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Carbon dioxide; Climate change; Drought; Elevation gradient; Photosynthesis; Respiration; Tropical montane forest; Tropical trees; Warming;

    Sammanfattning : Tropical climate is getting warmer, with more pronounced dry periods in large areas. The productivity and climate feedbacks of future tropical forests depend on the ability of trees to acclimate their physiological processes, such as photosynthesis and leaf respiration, to these new conditions. 5. 25. Development of Nanoimprint Lithography for Applications in Electronics, Photonics and Life-sciences

    Författare :Patrick Carlberg; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mikroelektronik; Microelectronics; Teknik; ballistic; Technological sciences; Fysik; Physics; nanowire; TBJ; cantilever; IDA electrode; sensors; life-science; lift-off; patterning media; anti-sticking; mold; stamp; process development; thermal imprint; nanoimprint lithography; Biotechnology; Bioteknik; nanotechnology; polymer; nanostructure;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes different aspects of nanotechnology manufacturing with nanoimprint lithography (NIL), a relatively new nanofabrication tool capable of high resolution and high throughput. Surface structure creation with NIL is based on mechanical deformation of the patterning material. LÄS MER
