  1. 36. Novel roles of ErbB3 receptor tyrosine kinase in vesicular trafficking

    Författare :Ana Rosa Saez-Ibañez; Ingvar Ferby; Carl-Henrik Heldin; Johanna Ivaska; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; ErbB3; Integrin; GGA3; Rabaptin5; PKD; Ack1; endocytic recycling; exosome; Biology with specialization in Molecular Cell Biology; Biologi med inriktning mot molekylär cellbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : ErbB3 is a catalytically impaired receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) from the EGFR family. Upon ligand binding, ErbB3 forms heterodimers with other members of the family and triggers phosphorylation cascades that promote crucial cellular functions as proliferation, differentiation and survival. 2. 37. Ischemic Tolerance and Cell Signaling in the Rat Brain

    Författare :Mehrdad Shamloo; Lund Wallenberg Neurocentrum; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; preconditioning; cell death; tyrosine phosphorylation; tolerance; ERK; Calpain; CaMKII; PKC; protection; Brain; ischemia; Neurology; neuropsychology; neurophysiology; Neurologi; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : A brief period of sublethal ischemia in the brain induces resistance to a subsequent, otherwise lethal ischemic insult. This phenomenon is known as ischemic tolerance or preconditioning. A model of ischemic preconditioning in the rat brain using the two-vessel occlusion model of global cerebral ischemia was established. LÄS MER

  3. 38. GDNF gene delivery in an animal model of Parkinson's disease. Long-term effects on intact, injured and transplanted dopamine neurons using lentiviral gene transfer

    Författare :Biljana Georgievska; Neurobiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neurologi; Neurology; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi; neurophysiology; transplantation; tyrosine hydroxylase; tetracycline; striatum; substantia nigra; sprouting; regulation; neuroprotection; lentivirus; gene therapy; GDNF; behavior; dopamine; neuropsychology;

    Sammanfattning : Parkinson's disease is characterized by a progressive degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra, leading to a loss of dopamine in the target structure striatum and development of motor symptoms, such as bradykinesia, rigidity and tremor. New experimental treatment strategies for Parkinson's disease are aimed at either preventing the degeneration of the dopaminergic neurons, or at restoring dopamine in the striatum by fetal dopaminergic transplants. 4. 39. Mechanisms determining efficacy of tyrosine kinase-targeting anti-cancer drugs

    Författare :Maja Bradic Lindh; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The expanding field of cancer research and the introduction of multiple molecular biology techniques have significantly improved cancer drug discovery, presented new drugs, including tyrosine kinase inhibitors, and thereby gave new hope to the cancer patients and their oncologists. Using this knowledge it is now becoming increasingly possible to determine outcome of malignant disease more accurately, to estimate response to specific therapies and to get closer to the ideal of personalized targeted therapy adjusted to each patient, and to the specific cancer type and its unique genetic profile. 5. 40. Receptors for growth hormone and prolactin. Regulation and activation

    Författare :Gunnel Hellgren; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Growth hormone; GH receptor; Janus kinase; GH sensitivity; 5 -untranslated region; prolactin; prolactin receptor adipose tissue; liver; skeletal muscle; epidermal growth factor receptor; tyrosine kinase; kinase activity;

    Sammanfattning : Cytokine receptor activation is dependent on ligand-induced receptor dimerization or oligomerization and subsequent activation of several intracellular proteins. Activation of Janus kinases (Jaks) is probably the first intracellular event that occurs after receptor dimerization. LÄS MER
