11. Steam Drying of Porous Media
Sammanfattning : The present study concerns heat and mass transfer in porous media dried by superheated steam. Specifically, the steam drying process of a packed bed of porous particles was studied in order to obtain design data for a band drier. LÄS MER
12. Non-Orthogonality and Electron Correlations in Nanotransport : Spin- and Time-Dependent Currents
Sammanfattning : The concept of the transfer Hamiltonian formalism has been reconsidered and generalized to include the non-orthogonality between the electron states in an interacting region, e.g. quantum dot (QD), and the states in the conduction bands in the attached contacts. LÄS MER
13. Unsaturated Solute Transport in a Semiarid Catchment - Nonlinear Analyses and Modelling
Sammanfattning : Unsaturated solute transport is highly variable and therefore difficult to predict. In semi-arid areas, where water resources are limited, the presence of macropores is of great importance for crop production. The bromide ion (Br-) and dye tracers are useful for studies of water movement. LÄS MER
14. Monte Carlo Simulations of Homogeneous and Inhomogeneous Transport in Silicon Carbide
Sammanfattning : The importance of simulation is increasing in the researchon semiconductor devices and materials. Simulations are used toexplore the characteristics of novel devices as well asproperties of the semiconductor materials that are underinvestigation, i.e. generally materials where the knowledge isinsufficient. 15. Capillary and interstitial transport of fluid and solutes across the peritoneal membrane
Sammanfattning : According to the three-pore model of peritoneal transport the major exchange pathway between the blood and the peritoneal cavity is represented by “small pores”, permeable to small solutes and water. Osmotically induced fluid flow, as during peritoneal dialysis (PD), is postulated to occur to a great extent through a water-only pathway, whereas proteins are predicted to reach the peritoneal cavity by unidirectional convection across “large pores”.
