16. On CFD-Analysis of Heat Transfer of a Heavy-Duty Diesel Engine
Sammanfattning : In this work, a heavy-duty diesel engine was studied by employing CFD simulations on a closed volume engine segment. These simulations were used to evaluate both the effects from certain parameters on the wall heat transfer, and to examine how reduction of heat transfer would effect the engine performance and emission levels. 17. Students’ meaning-making of epigenetic visual representations : An exploration within and between levels of biological organization
Sammanfattning : This thesis explores lower secondary students’ meaning-making of epigenetic visual representations within and between biological organization levels. Data obtained from five focus group discussions where students indicated and reasoned about eight epigenetic visual representations were explored. LÄS MER
18. Learning aspect in Italian as a third language : Transfer patterns among multilingual learners in the Swedish context
Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the impact of previously acquired or learned background languages (BL) on the learning of Italian as a third language (L3) among undergraduate students in the Swedish context. Focusing on the learning of past tense-aspect (TA) inflectional categories in Italian, the thesis investigates the influence of Swedish, English and Romance languages, French or Spanish, in light of four factors. 19. Formation and function of wobble uridine modifications in transfer RNA of Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Sammanfattning : Transfer RNAs (tRNAs) act as adaptor molecules in decoding messenger RNA into protein. Frequently found in tRNAs are different modified nucleosides, which are derivatives of the four normal nucleosides, adenosine (A), guanosine (G), cytidine (C), and uridine (U). LÄS MER
20. Combustion, Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfer in Oxy-fuel and Air-Fired CFB boilers
Sammanfattning : The studies described in this thesis develop and encode modeling tools for the design and scale-up of oxy-fuel circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers across a wide range of operational conditions. The modeling comprises fluid dynamics, combustion, and heat transfer and uses expressions that are proposed in this work or derived from the literature, together with experimental data obtained under both oxy-fuel-fired and air-fired conditions.
