36. Tableting performance of dry granulated particles : Significance and assessment of compression mechanical properties
Sammanfattning : Dry granulation (DG) is often utilized as an intermediate process during tablet manufacturing, for improving flow characteristics of the powder blend and/or reducing segregation issues related to the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). The resulting granules exhibit typically irregular shapes with rough surfaces and their mechanical properties are related to the feeding powder and the process parameters used during the DG. LÄS MER
37. 3D printing of polymers onto textiles : An innovative approach to develop functional textiles
Sammanfattning : This thesis aims at characterizing tridimensional (3D) printed polymers onto PET textile materials via fused deposition modeling (FDM) that uses both non-conductive and conductive polymers, optimizing their mechanical and electrical properties through statistical modeling and enhancing them with pre and post-treatments and the development of polymer blends. This research work supports the development of technical textiles through 3D printing that may have functionalities. LÄS MER
38. High performing cast aluminium-silicon alloys
Sammanfattning : The need to produce lighter components due to environmental aspects and the development of electrical vehicles represents an opportunity for cast aluminium-silicon alloys. With high specific strength, good castability, high corrosion resistance and recyclability, these alloys offer an attractive combination of properties as an alternative to steel, cast iron and titanium-based components in certain applications. 39. Material Properties of Starch and Cereal Protein Films and Foams
Sammanfattning : Materials that are renewable and biodegradable are demanded for environmental reasons. Biopolymeric materials, such as materials from starch and cereal proteins, are both renewable and biodegradable. However, starch and cereal protein materials are generally rather brittle and therefore need to be plasticized to become more flexible. LÄS MER
40. Load-Carrying Capacity of Damaged Concrete Structures
Sammanfattning : AbstractA growing need for better assessment of existing structures has revealed the need for improved understanding of structural effects of deterioration. The two most common causes of deterioration in concrete structures are corrosion of reinforcement and freezing of concrete. LÄS MER
