1. 3D printing of polymers onto textiles : An innovative approach to develop functional textiles
Sammanfattning : This thesis aims at characterizing tridimensional (3D) printed polymers onto PET textile materials via fused deposition modeling (FDM) that uses both non-conductive and conductive polymers, optimizing their mechanical and electrical properties through statistical modeling and enhancing them with pre and post-treatments and the development of polymer blends. This research work supports the development of technical textiles through 3D printing that may have functionalities. LÄS MER
2. FDM 3D printing of conductive polymer nanocomposites : A novel process for functional and smart textiles
Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to get the benefitof functionalities of fused deposition modeling(FDM) 3D printed conductive polymer nanocomposites (CPC) for the developmentof functional and smart textiles. 3D printing holds strong potential for the formation of a new class of multifunctional nanocomposites. 3. Limitations and possibilities for microbial degradation of organic contaminants in aquifers
Sammanfattning : Many factors can influence the rate of microbial degradation of organic contaminants in aquifers. Some of these factors, e.g. LÄS MER
4. Sliding stability re-assessment of concrete dams with bonded concrete-rock interfaces
Sammanfattning : The shear strength of the concrete-rock interface is an important parameter in sliding stability analyses of concrete dams founded on rock and depends, in addition to the normal stress state, on the bonding conditions of the interface; concrete-rock interfaces can be either unbonded, partially bonded or fully bonded. In the Swedish guidelines for dam safety all dam-foundation contacts are treated as unbonded. 5. Radical aspects on arthritis : the role of neutrophil generation of nitric oxide and superoxide in inflammatory conditions
Sammanfattning : The polymorphonuclear neutrophil granulocytes (neutrophils) are gaining renewed interest regarding their involvement in chronic inflammatory disorders, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Besides phagocytic and destructive capabilities, neutrophils have regulatory roles, e.g. by influencing responses from dendritic cells and lymphocytes. LÄS MER
