1. Structural sound transmission and attenuation in lightweight structures
Sammanfattning : Everyone wants a peaceful and quiet home, but in noisy cities it is a challenge to create such homes. New building techniques are mostly introduced for other purposes than noise control -- stability, economy, heat transfer and so on. LÄS MER
2. Micro-Structure Modelling of Acoustics of Open Porous Material
Sammanfattning : Transportation is a large and growing part of the world’s energy consumption. This drives a need for reduced weight of rail vehicles, just as it does for road vehicles. In spite of weight reductions, the vehicle still has to provide the same level of acoustic comfort for the passengers. LÄS MER
3. Acoustic excitation and transmission of lightweight structures
Sammanfattning : In order to increase our knowledge of the sound transmission and radiation processes of lightweight wall and floor structures, theoretical models are needed. Detailed models may form a valuable tool. In lightweight floor structures, impact sound insulation is perhaps the most important property to consider. LÄS MER
4. Structural-acoustic analysis of wall-to-floor joints in timber-framed housing
Sammanfattning : Even though a building meets the regulations with respect to impact sound, structures with wooden frames may receive complaints from the inhabitants due to structure-borne sound in the lower frequencies. In this thesis measuring methods that are more precise than the traditional measuring methods have been used to see if they could give a better knowledge about flanking transmission in the low frequencies in timber-framed structures. 5. Structure-acoustic analysis; finite element modelling and reduction methods
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates structure-acoustic systems by use of finite element analysis. The systems studied here are limited to those that consist of an enclosed acoustic fluid cavity, which is coupled to a flexible structure and/or a porous sound absorbing material domain. LÄS MER
