21. Neuropathic pain : somatosensory functions related to spontaneous ongoing pain, mechanical allodynia and pain relief
Sammanfattning : Introduction and aim: Patients with neuropathic pain suffer from spontaneous ongoing pain and from abnormal stimulus-evoked pain, e.g., allodynia. LÄS MER
22. Calcium channel activity and force regulation in smooth muscle: Effects of polyamines and growth stimulation
Sammanfattning : The initial signal for contraction in smooth muscle is an increase in [Ca2+]i. Ca2+ ions can either enter the cytosol from the extracellular medium or be released from intracellular stores. Voltage-operated Ca2+ channels (VOC) play a dominant role in the activation of smooth muscle contraction. LÄS MER
23. Om lärande i verksamhetsanknutna samtal : En studie i prat och om lärande i möten på en arbetsplats
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the spontaneous, unplanned learning of the participants in workbased discourses. We follow the activities of ten participants in five workbased discourses at a public authority. The study uses a qualitative method and its theoretical foundation is a constructivist and intentional perspective on learning. 24. Animal genomics – gene discovery and gene characterization
Sammanfattning : This thesis involves two projects. The aim in the first project was to identify genomic regions associated with spontaneous autoimmune thyroiditis (SAT), which is a hereditary autoimmune disease that affects the obese strain (OS) of chicken, an animal model for human Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (HT). 25. Circadian rhythm dysfunction in the suprachiasmatic nucleus : effects of Trypanosoma brucei brucei infection and inflammatory cytokines
Sammanfattning : Alterations in the mammalian circadian pacemaker, the hypothalamic suprachiasmatic nuclei (SCN), were studied in an experimental rat model of African trypanosomiasis, or sleeping sickness, caused by infections with subspecies of Trypanosoma brucei (T b). Characteristic signs of the disease are marked disturbances in circadian rhythms, such as a fragmentation of the sleep-wake cycle. LÄS MER
