  1. 1. HAMLET - In vivo effects and mechanisms of tumor-cell death

    Författare :Lotta Gustafsson; immunologi och glykobiologi - MIG Avdelningen för mikrobiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biomedicinska vetenskaper; Biomedical sciences; proteasome stress; HAMLET; human milk; tumor-cell death; clinical trial; rat xenograft model; skin papilloma; glioblastoma;

    Sammanfattning : HAMLET (human alpha-lactalbumin made lethal to tumor cells), a molecular complex derived from human milk, is an interesting new tool in cancer research since it induces programmed cell death in tumor cells while leaving normal, differentiated cells unharmed. The in vivo effects of HAMLET were studied in a rat xenograft model of human glioblastoma. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Pseudovirions in the Study of Papilloma- and Polyomaviruses

    Författare :Helena Faust; Malmö Klinisk mikrobiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Human papilloma- and polyomaviruses; pseudovirions; serology;

    Sammanfattning : The papilloma- and polyomaviruses are small DNA viruses that infect humans. Some members of these virus families can cause cancer in experimental animals and some are also established as carcinogenic to humans. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Cancer Genomics - Molecular Analysis of Epithelial Cells

    Författare :Anna C. Gustafsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :DNA microarray; Pyrosequencing;

    Sammanfattning : Cancer is a disease involving multiple causal andsymptomatic genetic changes, collectively reflecting theselective pressures that occur during tumor development.Epithelial cancers are by far the most common type of cancerworldwide and investigation of the alterations associated withepithelial carcinogenesis will ultimately lead to improvementsin diagnosis, prognosis, prevention and treatment of thedisease. 4. 4. Apoptosis and tumor cell death pathways in response to HAMLET

    Författare :Oskar Hallgren; allergologi och palliativ medicin Lungmedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biomedicinska vetenskaper allmänt ; General biomedical sciences; Klinisk biologi; apoptosis; autophagy; alpha-lactalbumin; Clinical biology; programmed cell death; HAMLET; cell cycle;

    Sammanfattning : HAMLET (Human alpha-lactalbumin made lethal to tumor cells) is a molecular complex of alpha-lactalbumin and oleic acid, that induces programmed cells death in tumor cells but leaves healthy differentiated cells unaffected. It has a broad anti-tumor activity as more than 40 cell lines from different origin are sensitive. LÄS MER
