1. Single-Photon Events in the DELPHI Experiment
Sammanfattning : A series of studies pertaining to the STIC calorimeter at the DELPHI experiment at LEP is presented, and a new generation of fast wire scanners for emittance measurements at PS is described. The STIC studies are centered around a single-photon analysis, in which the reaction e+ e- -> gamma + invisible particles was studied at center-of-mass energies of 161, 172 and 183 GeV. LÄS MER
2. Searches for New Physics in Single Photon Events and a Search for Charginos at the DELPHI Experiment
Sammanfattning : A search for new physics using events with a single photon and missing energy has been made at the DELPHI experiment together with a search for charginos. The results were based on data collected up to and including the final year of 2000. LÄS MER
3. Time Correlated Single Photon Spectroscopy on Pyramidal Quantum Dots
Sammanfattning : Generation of non-classical light is both of fundamental interest and a common condition for quantum information applications (QIA). One feasible type of single photon emitter for QIA is based on semiconductor quantum dots (QDs), due to their atomic-like energy structure and their possibility to be integrated with other semiconductor devices on the same chip. 4. Loco-regional Treatment of Peritoneal Carcinomatosis: Survival, Morbidity and Quality of Life
Sammanfattning : Peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC) is traditionally regarded as a terminal stage of disease with a poor prognosis and systemic chemotherapy is regarded as palliative treatment. In order to improve survival and even to achieve cure for selected patients with PC, cytoreductive surgery and intraperitoneal che-motherapy have been advocated. LÄS MER
5. Development of probes for molecular imaging : evaluation in models of inflammation and atherosclerosis
Sammanfattning : The imaging field is rapidly evolving and in the last two decades there have been tremendous developments in the field of multimodal imaging. Multimodal molecular imaging approaches that utilize ultrasound/magnetic resonance imaging (US/MRI), single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT), or positron emission tomography/MRI (PET/MRI) may provide additional detailed information at the cellular and molecular level to help identify patients with vulnerable plaques that are at risk of rupture.
