  1. 1. Sensorimotor transformations during grasping movements

    Författare :Daniel Säfström; Benoni B. Edin; Melvyn A. Goodale; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; sensorimotor transformation; sensory integration; visuomotor map; human physiology; adaptation; grasping; sensory substitution; Physiology; Fysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : ‘Sensorimotor transformations’ are processes whereby sensory information is used to generate motor commands. One example is the ‘visuomotor map’ that transforms visual information about objects to motor commands that activates various muscles during grasping movements. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Spinal Cord Processing of Sensory Information: Spatial Organization and Adaptive Mechanisms

    Författare :Anders Levinsson; Malmö Diagnostisk radiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neurologi; neurophysiology; neuropsychology; Neurology; transplantatioin; pain; sensorimotor; plasticity; reflex; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Principles for sensorimotor transformation and plasticity in the spinal cord and functional repair in the root-avulsed spinal cord were studied. A comparative study confirmed that the nociceptive withdrawal reflex (NWR) system is composed of reflex modules, with each performing a finely tuned transformation of skin sensory input to activity in one muscle. 3. 3. Spontaneous Movements during Sleep Guide Spinal Self-organization: Formation and Expression of a Memory Trace

    Författare :Per Petersson; Neurofysiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neurologi; neuropsychology; Neurology; long-term memory; somatosensory; receptive field; learning; sensorimotor; developmental; neurophysiology; neurofysiologi; neuropsykologi;

    Sammanfattning : During development, information about the three-dimensional shape and mechanical properties of the body is laid down in the synaptic connectivity of sensorimotor systems through adaptive mechanisms. In spinal reflex systems, this enables the fast transformation of complex sensory information into adequate correction of movements. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Sensorimotor Therapy: Assessing Quantitative and Qualitative Expressions of Physiological and Psychological Development in Children

    Författare :Mats Niklasson; Torsten Norlander; Peder Rasmussen; Magnus Lindwall; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Developmental Coordination Disorder; Learning Disorder; ADHD; Primary reflexes; Vestibular stimulation; Psycholigical development; Regression; Retraining for Balance; Developmental Coordination Disorder; Inlärningssvårigheter; ADHD; Primära reflexer; Vestibulär stimulering; Psykologisk utveckling; Regression; Retraining for Balance; Psykologi; Psychology;

    Sammanfattning : The first purpose of this thesis was to examine whether sensorimotor therapy utilizing the training program ”Retraining for Balance” might be an appropriate technique for sensorimotor proficiency. The second purpose was to gain increased understanding of the effects of sensorimotor therapy on the physical and psychological development of children and youth. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Plasticity in mice nociceptive spinal circuits -role of cell adhesion molecules

    Författare :Jonas Thelin; Neurofysiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Long term-potentiation; Cell adhesion molecule; Pain; Somatosensory imprinting; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Nociceptive withdrawal reflex; Species differences; Central sensitisation; Mouse strains; Spinal cord;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: To understand the function of the genes and their products in the pain system, studies will have to deal with complex issues related to intercellular communication, e.g. plasticity in neuronal networks. LÄS MER
