  1. 16. Monetary Policy, Trade Dynamics, and Labor Markets in Open Economies

    Författare :Vesna Corbo; Nils Gottfries; Andreas Westermark; Tommy Sveen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Open Economy Macroeconomics; Monetary Policy; DSGE Models; Exchange Rates; Unemployment; Bayesian estimation; Bargaining; Elasticities; Heterogeneity; Aggregation; Calibration of Macroeconomic Models; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four self-contained essays.Essay 1 studies the implications of relaxing the assumption that the elasticity of international substitution is constant over time horizons, through the modeling of habit formation. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Molecular and genetic studies in high-risk neuroblastoma

    Författare :Angela Martinez-Monleon; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cancer; neural crest; neuroblastoma; heterogeneity; relapse; sequencing; CNVs; SVs; SNVs; LSAMP; CDK4; MDM2;

    Sammanfattning : Neuroblastoma is the most common and deadly cancer in the first year of life. Children with high-risk neuroblastoma have a very poor prognosis, despite heavy multimodal treatment, with less than 50% of 5 years of overall survival. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Process Models for CO2 Migration and Leakage : Gas Transport, Pore-Scale Displacement and Effects of Impurities

    Författare :Farzad Basirat; Auli Niemi; Karsten Jensen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Geological Carbon Storage; CO2 leakage; Field experiment; Laboratory experiment design; Multi-phase flow; Heterogeneity; Wettability; Pore-scale modeling; Impurity gases; Hydrology; Hydrologi;

    Sammanfattning : Geological Carbon Storage (GCS) is considered as one of the key techniques to reduce the rate of atmospheric emissions of CO2 and thereby to contribute to controlling the global warming. A successful application of a GCS project requires the capability of the formation to trap CO2 for a long term. LÄS MER

  4. 19. The effect of scale on the morphology, mechanics and transmissivity of single rock fractures

    Författare :Nader Fardin; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Anisotropy; Aperture; Asperity degradation; Contact area; Finite Element Method FEM ; Flow analysis; Fractals; Fracture morphology; Heterogeneity; Stress-deformation; Surface roughness; Roughness-Length method; Scale dependency; Stationarity; Transm;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the effect of scale on themorphology, mechanics and transmissivity of single rockfractures using both laboratory and in-situ experiments, aswell as numerical simulations. Using a laboratory 3D laserscanner, the surface topography of a large silicon-rubberfracture replica of size 1m x 1m, as well as the topography ofboth surfaces of several high-strength concrete fracturereplicas varying in size from 50mmx50mm to 200mm x 200mm, werescanned. 5. 20. Impact of Cultivation Parameters on Cell Physiology of Limosilactobacillus reuteri

    Författare :Nikhil Seshagiri Rao; Teknisk mikrobiologi; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; probiotics; L. reuteri; oxygen; fermentation; heterogeneity; morphology; flow cytometery; freeze-drying; stress tolerance; Online flow cytometry; k-means clustering; fatty acids; defined minimal media; pre-formulation hold time;

    Sammanfattning : Optimisation of cultivation conditions in the industrial production of probiotics is crucial to reach a high-quality product with high probiotic functionality. The production process includes a fermentation step to produce biomass, accompanied by centrifugation to concentrate the cells. LÄS MER
