12. Engineering model for curve squeal formulated in the time domain
Sammanfattning : Curve squeal is a type of railway noise that may arise when a railway vehicle negotiates a relatively tight curve. Squeal is common in curves of a radius lower than 200 meters. A single frequency dominates the radiated sound, which makes squeal a very tonal noise. LÄS MER
13. Rail Corrugation Growth on Curves
Sammanfattning : The development of periodic irregularities with distinct wavelengths (corrugation) on the low rail of small radius curves is studied through mathematical modelling, numerical simulations, field measurements and laboratory investigations. One year of monitoring of roughness on the low rail of a 120 m radius curve on the metro of Stockholm Public Transport (SL) showed severe growth of rail corrugation with wavelengths of about 5 cm and 8 cm. 14. Optical Absorption and Electrical Conductivity in Lithium Intercalated Amorphous Tungsten Oxide Films
Sammanfattning : Optical and electrical properties of electrochemically lithium ion intercalated thin films of x-ray amorphous tungsten oxide made by magnetron sputtering on glass substrates coated with a thin layer of conductive tin doped indium oxide, have been studied. The composition and the density of the films were characterized by the ion beam analysis methods Rutherford Backscattering Spectroscopy and Elastic Recoil Detection Analysis. LÄS MER
15. Some Aspects on Macroscopic Mixing in a Tundish
Sammanfattning : Two aspects on macroscopic mixing in a continuous flow system – metallurgical tundish were studied. Specifically, 1) the first focus was on salt solution tracer mixing, which is important for tundish design from perspectives of tracer technology and Residence Time Distributions (RTD) as well as for the understanding of the macroscopic mixing in tundishes.
