1. Collaborative Product Introduction within Extended Enterprises
Sammanfattning : The trend of outsourcing within the electronic industry has contributed to the creation of new types of extended enterprises. These extended enterprises must be able to manage a challenging situation with shorter product life cycles and increased collaboration between companies during the vital product introduction process. 2. Integration of Surface Acoustic Wave and Microfluidic Technologies for Liquid-Phase Sensing Applications
Sammanfattning : This thesis discusses a new concept for construction of a novel SAW in-liquid sensor employing surface acoustic wave resonance (SAR) in a one-port configuration. In this concept, the reflective gratings of a one-port SAW resonator are employed as mass loading-sensing elements, while the SAW transducer is protected from the measurement environment, reducing power losses significantly. 3. InAs Nanowire Devices and Circuits
Sammanfattning : Since the introduction of the transistor and the integrated circuit, the semiconductor industry has developed at a remarkable pace. By continuously fabricating smaller and faster transistors, it has been possible to maintain an exponential increase in performance, a phenomenon famously described by Moore’s Law. LÄS MER
4. Electronic structure and transport in exotic nanostructures
Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the physics of nanostructures involving nanowires, quantum dots, superconductors, and topological insulators. These systems serve as excellent platforms for fundamental physics studies and quantum technology applications. LÄS MER
5. Quantum-Dot Heat Engines
Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the possibilities of using quantum dots (QDs) in nanoscale energy har- vesters converting heat into electrical energy, i.e. heat engines. From a theory perspective, these possibilities have been investigated for almost two decades, and interest in them seem to continuously increase over time. LÄS MER
