1. Magnetic resonance imaging and diffusion tensor imaging after brachial plexus injury and repair : Experimental and clinical study
Sammanfattning : Brachial plexus injuries (BPI) cause permanent upper limb paralysis and serious disability in adults and children. Timely identification of the severity of nerve injury and early appreciation of the inane potential for recovery would revolutionise management. LÄS MER
2. Necrotising Enterocolitis : epidemiology and imaging
Sammanfattning : Necrotising enterocolitis (NEC) is a potentially devastating intestinal inflammation of multifactorial aetiology in premature or otherwise vulnerable neonates. Because of the broad spectrum of presentations, diagnosis and timing of surgical intervention may be challenging, and imaging needs to be an integrated part of management. LÄS MER
3. Curing Multiple Sclerosis : How to do it and how to prove it
Sammanfattning : Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is a potentially curative treatment for multiple sclerosis (MS) with now more than 600 documented cases in the medical literature. Long-term remission can be achieved with this therapy, but when is it justified to claim that a patient is cured from MS? In attempt to answer this question, the outcome of the Swedish patients is described, mechanisms behind the therapeutic effect are discussed and new tools for demonstration of absence of disease have been developed. 4. 3D Rotational Angiography of Transplanted Renal Arteries : A Clinical and Experimental Study
Sammanfattning : Three-dimensional rotational angiography (3D-RA) is an established method within the field of interventional neuroradiology. The method has also a great potential in other areas with a complicated arterial anatomy. LÄS MER
5. Juxtarenal aortic aneurysm - Endovascular treatment and imaging techniques
Sammanfattning : Treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms has shifted rapidly from open surgery to minimally invasive endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR). However, anatomical limitations such as short or absent proximal sealing neck and poor access vessels exclude up to 50% of patients. LÄS MER
