  1. 1. EMG and strength in trunk and hip muscles

    Författare :Eva A Andersson; Alf Thorstensson; Margareta Nordin; Gymnastik- och idrottshögskolan; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neurophysiology; Neurofysiologi; abdominal muscles; biomechanics; electromyography; erector spinae; iliacus; iliopsoas; hip flexor muscles; locomotion; motor control; normalization; posture; psoas; quadratus lumborum; rehabilitation; running; sit-ups; strength; training exercises; u;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to study the myouelectric activity of all major muscles involved in the movements and stabilization of the trunk, pelvis and hips during training exercises, postures, motor tasks, maximal strength performance and locomotion. By use of ultra-sound, EMG electrodes could be guided safely and accurately into muscles situated even close to the spinal column, such as psoas, quadratus lumborum and deep parts of erector spinae. 2. 2. Biomechanics of back extension torque production about the lumbar spine

    Författare :Karl Daggfeldt; Gymnastik- och idrottshögskolan; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Medicin Teknik;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis has been to develop a realistic mechanical description of lumbar back extension torque production. Such a description is desirable for understanding how back extension torque is generated as well as how the spine and surrounding structures are loaded during back extension tasks. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Asymmetric lateral loading of the human trunk

    Författare :Qiang-Min Huang; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Eccentric; concentric; isokinetic; electromyography; co-activation; trunk; spinal biomechanics; contraction patterns; lateral bending; lifting and lowering; balance; kinematics; postural control; IAP; support translation.;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to characterize the biomechanics and neuromuscular control of the human trunk in response to asymmetric lateral loading. The pulling force and strength capacities as well as muscle activation patterns, trunk kinematics and postural balance in relation to lateral trunk flexion and loading were given special consideration.
