  1. 11. The Role of Kit and Thrombopoietin in Regulation of Hematopoietic Stem Cells

    Författare :Lina Thorén; Stamcellscentrum (SCC); []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; thrombopoietin; hematopoiesis; Thpo; c-kit; stem cells;

    Sammanfattning : The hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) is postulated to be the ultimate hematopoietic precursor providing production of mature blood cells, and is characterized by a life long capacity for self-renewal and multilineage differentiation. In a healthy human, the HSC produces 1,000,000,000,000 cells per day, illustrating the high turnover within the hematopoietic system and the need for replenishments by HSCs. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Physiological roles of amyloid precursor protein in vivo - zebrafish as a model

    Författare :Jasmine Chebli; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Amyloid-beta precursor protein; amyloid precursor protein-b; zebrafish; physiological functions; development; trigeminal ganglia; ependyma; cilia; proteomics; translational adaptation;

    Sammanfattning : Amyloid-beta precursor protein (APP) is an evolutionarily conserved transmembrane protein expressed in many different tissues. APP belongs to a gene family consisting of two other APP-like proteins (APLP1 and APLP2). LÄS MER

  3. 13. Sputtering of Precursors for Cu2ZnSnS4 Solar Cells and Application of Cadmium Free Buffer Layers

    Författare :Tove Ericson; Charlotte Platzer-Björkman; Tomas Kubart; Marika Edoff; Yaroslav Romanyuk; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; solar cells; thin film; buffer layer; sputtering; reactive sputtering; CZTS; kesterite; zinc tin oxide; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektronik; Engineering Science with specialization in Electronics;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to understand the influence of the deposition process and resulting film properties on Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) thin film solar cells. Two main aspects are studied, namely formation of absorber precursors by sputtering, and alternative Cd-free buffer materials with improved band alignment. LÄS MER

  4. 14. ZrN Back-Contact Reflectors and Ga Gradients in Cu(In,Ga)Se2 Solar Cells

    Författare :Sebastian Michael Schleussner; Marika Edoff; Tobias Törndahl; Uwe Zimmermann; Dieter Schmid; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Solar cells; CIGS; ZrN; three-stage process; multi-stage process; grading; SIMS; electrical modelling; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektronik; Engineering Science with specialization in Electronics;

    Sammanfattning : Solar cells constitute the most direct way of converting solar energy to electricity, and thin-film solar-cell technologies have lately been growing in importance, allowing the fabrication of less expensive modules that nonetheless have good power-conversion efficiencies. This thesis focuses on solar cells based on Cu(In,Ga)Se2, which is the thin-film technology that has shown the highest conversion efficiency to date, reaching 20. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Thymic Stroma and T Cell Development. Impacts of Retinoic Acid Signaling

    Författare :Kerstin Wendland; Slemhinnans immunologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Thymus; Thymic epithelial cells; Retinoic acid; T cell development; Stromal Cells;

    Sammanfattning : The development of functionally competent, self-tolerant T cells in the thymus is an essential prerequisite for the formation of adaptive immune responses against foreign pathogens. Thymic epithelial cells (TECs) form specialized stromal microenvironments in the cortex (cTEC) and medulla (mTEC) of the thymus that support all stages of T cell development, from the entry of thymocyte progenitors to the exit of mature naive T cells.
