1. Electrokinetic devices from polymeric materials
Sammanfattning : There are multiple applications for polymers: our bodies are built of them, plastic bags and boxes used for storage are composed of them, as are the shells for electronics, TVs, computers, clothes etc. Many polymers are cheap, and easy to manufacture and process which make them suitable for disposable systems. 2. Model Systems for Metal - DNA Interactions. With a Focus on Anticancer Active Platinum(II) Complexes
Sammanfattning : Reactions of trans-dicyanodichloroaurate(III) trans-dibromodicyanoaurate(III), trans-diamminedichlorogold(III), cis-diammine(aqua)chloroplatinum(II), cis-ammineaqua-(cyclohexylamine)chloroplatinum(II), chloro(terpyridine)platinum(II) and chloro-(diethylenetriaminepalldium(II) with dimethyl sulfide, thionucleosides, thionucleotides and thione- and guanine-containing 17-mer oligonucleotides have been investigated by use of conventional and high-pressure stopped-flow spectrophotometry and HPLC technique as a function of ionic strength, pH, temperature and pressure in aqueous solutions. The mechanism and rate of oxidation of dimethyl sulfide by gold(III) complexes depends on the concentration of free halide. LÄS MER
3. Modification of Surface Properties Through Polymer Adsorption. Kinetics, Interaction, Degradation and Stability
Sammanfattning : The interfacial behaviour of polymers in relation to surface modification and polymer degradation was studied. In the first part the interfacial behaviour of amphiphilic poly(ethylene oxide)–poly(D,L-lactide) (EmLn) diblock copolymers at hydrophilic and hydrophobic substrates from aquous solution was studied. 4. Poly(Lactide-co-Glycolide) in Controlled-Release Pharmaceuticals - Release Mechanisms
Sammanfattning : Controlled-release formulations reduce the frequency of injections and better maintain plasma concentrations within the therapeutic window. Poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLG) is currently the most frequently used biodegradable polymer for this application. LÄS MER
5. Phase Behavior and Solution Properties of Aqueous Polyion-Surfactant Ion Systems
Sammanfattning : Polyelectrolytes and oppositely charged surfactants interact through attractive electrostatic forces, which in many cases lead to phase separation already at low total concentrations. During the past 10-15 years investigations of these systems have been simplified through the use of complex salts that consist of surfactants with polymeric counterions in a 1:1 charge stoichiometry (no excess simple counterions present).
