26. Surface Energy Patterning and Optoelectronic Devices Based on Conjugated Polymers
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis concerns surface energy modification and patterning of the surfaces of conjugated polymers. Goniometry and Wilhelmy Balance techniques were used to evaluate the surface energy or wettability of a polymer’s surface; infrared reflectionabsorption spectroscopy (IRAS) was used to analyse the residuals on the surface as modified by a bare elastomeric stamp poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS). 27. Modelling and Degradation Characteristics of Thin-film CIGS Solar Cells
Sammanfattning : Thin-film solar cells based around the absorber material CuIn1-xGaxSe2 (CIGS) are studied with respect to their stability characteristics, and different ways of modelling device operation are investigated. Two ways of modelling spatial inhomogeneities are detailed, one fully numerical and one hybrid model. LÄS MER
28. Functional Materials for Perovskite Solar Cells
Sammanfattning : Energy plays a significant role in our daily lives, but most energy provided by fossil fuels causes serious environmental problems including air pollution, global warming, and ecological damage. In addition, it has been estimated that all of our fossil fuels will run out in 2088 and thus it is highly important to study and apply renewable energy sources. LÄS MER
29. Luminescent Silicon Nanocrystals: From Single Quantum Dot to Light-harvesting Devices
Sammanfattning : Silicon (Si) serves as the basic material of the system-on-a-chip industry and photovoltaic panels nowadays. This is mostly thanks to its high abundance in the earth’s crust, thereby low cost, virtually non-toxicity, and superior stability. LÄS MER
30. Bioelectronic Devices for Targeted Drug Delivery and Monitoring of Microbial Electrogenesis
Sammanfattning : Despite a range of pain therapies available in the market, 70% of patients report so-called “breakthrough pain”. Coupled with global issues like opioid crisis, there is a clear need for advanced therapies and technologies for pain management. LÄS MER
