16. Preclinical and Clinical Development of the Novel Cyanoguanidine CHS 828 for Cancer Treatment
Sammanfattning : CHS 828 is a cyanoguanidine with anti-tumour properties which has shown promising effects in several preclinical models. This thesis describes both preclinical and clinical studies aiming to investigate disease specific activity, clinical tolerability and efficacy of CHS 828. LÄS MER
17. Functions of Generalized Bounded Variation
Sammanfattning : This thesis is devoted to the study of different generalizations of the classical conception of a function of bounded variation.First, we study the functions of bounded p-variation introduced by Wiener in 1924. We obtain estimates of the total p-variation (1.. LÄS MER
18. Macrolide Antibiotics in Bacterial Protein Synthesis
Sammanfattning : Macrolides are a large group of clinically relevant antibiotics that inhibit protein synthesis by binding to the large ribosomal subunit in the peptide exit tunnel, close to the peptidyl transferase center (PTC). We have shown that the peptide length of the resulting peptidyl-tRNA drop-off products is proportional to the distance between the PTC and the respective macrolide in the tunnel. LÄS MER
19. Diffusive properties of granitic rock as measured by in-situ electrical methods
Sammanfattning : Diffusion into the rock matrix has been identified as one of the most important retention mechanisms for dissolved contaminants in fractured crystalline rock. In this thesis the diffusive properties of granitic rock, described by the formation factor, have been investigated by electrical methods. LÄS MER
20. What do students’ feel about mathematics? : Compulsory school students’ emotions and motivation towards mathematics
Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis deals with compulsory school students’ expressed emotions and motivation towards mathematics. Theoretically, it has been guided by Hannula’s meta-theory on affect (e.g., 2012), of which emotion and motivation are part. LÄS MER
