  1. 31. Window-based congestion control : Modeling, analysis and design

    Författare :Niels Möller; Karl Henrik Johansson; Rayadurgam Srikant; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Internet; Congestion control; Window-based; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a model for the ACK-clock inner loop, common to virtually all Internet congestion control protocols, and analyzes the stability properties of this inner loop, as well as the stability and fairness properties of several window update mechanisms built on top of the ACK-clock. Aided by the model for the inner-loop, two new congestion control mechanisms are constructed, for wired and wireless networks. LÄS MER

  3. 33. Multivariate design of molecular docking experiments : An investigation of protein-ligand interactions

    Författare :David Andersson; Anna Linusson Jonsson; Gabriele Cruciani; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Molecular docking; chemometrics; multivariate analysis; principal component analysis; PCA; design of experiments; DoE; partial least-square projections to latent structures; PLS; scoring functions; ligand-binding cavity; major histocompatibility complex; MHC; glycopeptide; T-cell.; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Läkemedelskemi; datorlingvistik; computational linguistics;

    Sammanfattning : To be able to make informed descicions regarding the research of new drug molecules (ligands), it is crucial to have access to information regarding the chemical interaction between the drug and its biological target (protein). Computer-based methods have a given role in drug research today and, by using methods such as molecular docking, it is possible to investigate the way in which ligands and proteins interact. LÄS MER

  4. 34. Estimation and optimal input design in sparse models

    Författare :Javad Parsa; Håkan Hjalmarsson; Kim Batselier; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; System identification; Sparse estimation; Input design; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Sparse parameter estimation is an important aspect of system identification, as it allows for reducing the order of a model, and also some models in system identification inherently exhibit sparsity in their parameters. The accuracy of the estimated sparse model depends directly on the performance of the sparse estimation methods. LÄS MER

  5. 35. Convergence Analysis and Design of Multiple Concatenated Codes

    Författare :Fredrik Brännström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; extrinsic information transfer EXIT function; convergence analysis; Multiple concatenated codes; code search; scheduling; parameter estimation; iterative decoding; EXIT chart; puncturing;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis is to develop a methodology for designing efficient multiple concatenated coding schemes, consisting of two or more constituent codes, concatenated in serial or in parallel. Extrinsic information transfer (EXIT) analysis is found to be a suitable and versatile analysis tool for such codes and thus, the design methodology is based almost entirely on this technique. LÄS MER
