  1. 1. Multivariate Networks : Visualization and Interaction Techniques

    Författare :Ilir Jusufi; Andreas Kerren; Jessie Kennedy; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Information Visualization; Multivariate Networks; Visual Analytics; Exploration; Interaction; Computer Science; Datavetenskap; Information and software visualization; Informations- och programvisualisering;

    Sammanfattning : As more and more data is created each day, researchers from different science domains are trying to make sense of it. A lot of this data, for example our connections to friends on different social networking websites, can be modeled as graphs, where the nodes are actors and the edges are relationships between them. 2. 2. Improving interpretation by orthogonal variation : Multivariate analysis of spectroscopic data

    Författare :Hans Stenlund; Johan Trygg; Tom Fearn; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; OPLS; PLS; Multivariate Analysis; Orthogonal variation; Chemometrics; hyperspectral images; FTIR; NIR; spectroscopy; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The desire to use the tools and concepts of chemometrics when studying problems in the life sciences, especially biology and medicine, has prompted chemometricians to shift their focus away from their field‘s traditional emphasis on model predictivity and towards the more contemporary objective of optimizing information exchange via model interpretation. The complex data structures that are captured by modern advanced analytical instruments open up new possibilities for extracting information from complex data sets. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Decoding the complex brain : multivariate and multimodal analyses of neuroimaging data

    Författare :Alireza Salami; Lars Nyberg; Cheryl Grady; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; multivariate analysis; univariate analysis; multimodal imaging; episodic memory; aging; functional magnetic resonance imaging; diffusion tensor imaging; biology; biologi; Psychology; psykologi; datoriserad bildanalys; Computerized Image Analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Functional brain images are extraordinarily rich data sets that reveal distributed brain networks engaged in a wide variety of cognitive operations. It is a substantial challenge both to create models of cognition that mimic behavior and underlying cognitive processes and to choose a suitable analytic method to identify underlying brain networks. 4. 4. Nonionic surfactants : A multivariate study

    Författare :Lise-Lott Uppgård; Michael Sjöström; Svante Wold; Jiri Damborsky; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; AEO; APG; aquatic toxicity; cellulose reactivity; Fock; MLR; multivariate data analysis; nonionic surfactant; PCA; physicochemical properties; PLS; QSAR; surface activity; viscose; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis technical nonionic surfactants are studied using multivariate techniques. The surfactants studied were alkyl ethoxylates (AEOs) and alkyl polyglucosides (APGs). The aquatic toxicity of the surfactants towards two organisms, a shrimp and a rotifer, was examined. The specified effect was lethality, LC50, as indicated by immobilisation. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Volatile metabolites from microorganisms in indoor environments : sampling, analysis and identification

    Författare :Anna-Lena Sunesson; Alvin Fox; Umeå universitet; []
