1. Convergence Analysis and Design of Multiple Concatenated Codes
Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis is to develop a methodology for designing efficient multiple concatenated coding schemes, consisting of two or more constituent codes, concatenated in serial or in parallel. Extrinsic information transfer (EXIT) analysis is found to be a suitable and versatile analysis tool for such codes and thus, the design methodology is based almost entirely on this technique. 2. The impact of structural factors in colon and rectal cancer surgery
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to investigate the importance and effect of some key-structural factors on outcome of colorectal cancer surgery.Considerable improvements in the treatment of colorectal cancer, i.e. radiotherapy, chemotherapy and operative technique, have taken place since the beginning of the 80s. 4. Molecular dissection of established and proposed members of the Op18/Stathmin family of tubulin binding proteins
Sammanfattning : My initial aim was a functional analysis of the conserved Op18/stathmin family of microtubule-regulators, which includes the ubiquitous cytosolic Op18 protein and the neural membrane-attached RB3 and SCG10 proteins. The solved X-ray structure has shown that these proteins form a complex with tubulin -heterodimers via two imperfect helical repeats, which result in two head-to-tail aligned heterodimers in a tandem-tubulin complex. 5. Tailoring Pairwise Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access to the Requirements of Critical Cyber-Physical Systems
Sammanfattning : Within the context of Industry 4.0, many devices have become more intelligent and connected, leading to challenges on how to meet the stringent requirements on latency and reliability in networks of critical cyber-physical systems. In particular, timely channel access and high reliability are of essence to guarantee real-time deadlines. LÄS MER
