  1. 1. Musculoskeletal Development in Jawed Vertebrates : Gene function, cis-regulation, and 3D phenotypes in zebrafish

    Författare :Jake Leyhr; Tatjana Haitina; Sophie Sanchez; Per Ahlberg; Chrissy Hammond; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nkx3.2; Gdf5; Mkx; zebrafish; jaw joint; skeleton; fin development; cartilage; tendon; ligament; enhancer; CRISPR Cas9; mutant; microCT; synchrotron; Biology with specialization in Evolutionary Organismal Biology; Biologi med inriktning mot evolutionär organismbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Vertebrate skeletons are an intricate framework of bony and cartilaginous structures that form through carefully orchestrated developmental processes, guided by interacting genetic pathways that regulate cellular differentiation, migration, and tissue morphogenesis. The specific timing and localisation of gene expression shapes the diverse array of skeletal elements, from the flexible cartilages of the embryonic stage to the hardened bones that provide structural support in adulthood, and the joints and connective tissues that articulate the musculoskeletal system. 2. 2. Chronic musculoskeletal pain: a multifactorial process

    Författare :Stefan Bergman; Reumatologi och molekylär skelettbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; widespread; SF-36; risk factors; rheumatoid arthritis; pain; musculoskeletal; epidemiology; fibromyalgia; Skeleton; muscle system; rheumatology locomotion; Skelett; muskelsystem; reumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : The aim was to study prevalence, assessment methods, and risk factors of chronic musculoskeletal pain, as well as effects on health status in a general population setting. A postal survey to a representative sample of 3928 subjects aged 20–74 years in 2 municipalities on the west coast of Sweden was followed by clinical examinations of selected subjects, and a three-year follow up survey to 2425 subjects who answered completely to the first. 3. 3. Fear and avoidance in the development of a persistent musculoskeletal pain problem : implications for secondary prevention

    Författare :Katja Boersma; Steven Linton; Johan Vlaeyen; Geert Crombez; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Psychology; pain-related fear; fear-avoidance model; back pain; disability; development; exposure; Psykologi; Psychology; Psykologi; Psykologi; Psychology;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation focused on the role of fear and avoidance in the development of a persistent back pain problem. The first aim of this dissertation was to study when and how cognitive, affective and behavioral factors influence one another in the development of persistent pain and disability. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Skeletal Development During the First Three Decades in Life

    Författare :Erik Lindgren; Ortopedi - klinisk och molekylär osteoporosforskning; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Peak bone mass; DXA; PQCT; physical activity; musculoskeletal development;

    Sammanfattning : AbstractBackground: Areal bone mineral density (aBMD) measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) is a surrogate estimate of bone strength. The highest value in life is referred to “peak bone mass” (PBM). LÄS MER

  5. 5. Cellular Interactions with Extracellular Matrix During Development and in Muscle Disease

    Författare :Carl-Fredrik Tiger; Anders Aspberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell and molecular biology; integrin; laminin; collagen; muscle; tendon; skeleton; mouse; human; development; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology;

    Sammanfattning : The formation and maintenance of tissues in multicellular animals are crucially dependent on cellular interactions with the extracellular matrix (ECM). Two different studies on such interactions are presented herein. LÄS MER
