  1. 1. Mutual Understanding in Situated Interactions with Conversational User Interfaces : Theory, Studies, and Computation

    Författare :Dimosthenis Kontogiorgos; Joakim Gustafsson; Gabriel Skantze; Catherine Pelachaud; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; human-computer interaction; social robots; smart-speakers; multimodal behaviours; social signal processing; common ground; dialogue and discourse; joint-construction tasks; embodiment; conversational failures; Computer Science; Datalogi;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation presents advances in HCI through a series of studies focusing on task-oriented interactions between humans and between humans and machines. The notion of mutual understanding is central, also known as grounding in psycholinguistics, in particular how people establish understanding in conversations and what interactional phenomena are present in that process. 2. 2. Patient participation in and treatment effects of multimodal rehabilitation and the web Behaviour Change Program for Activity

    Författare :Catharina Nordin; Ingibjörg Jonsdooir; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Physiotherapy; Fysioterapi;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim was to explore experiences of patient participation in pain rehabilitation among patients with persistent musculoskeletal pain, and investigate effects of multimodal rehabilitation (MMR) and a self-guided web-based intervention. Qualitative interviews were conducted with women and men (between 23 to 60 years) with persistent musculoskeletal pain. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Probabilistic Mapping of Spatial Motion Patterns for Mobile Robots

    Författare :Tomasz Piotr Kucner; Martin Magnusson; Achim Lilienthal; Tomás Krajník; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : To bring robots closer to real-world autonomy, it is necessary to equip them with tools allowing them to perceive, model and behave adequately to dynamic changes in the environment. The idea of incorporating information about dynamics not only in the robots reactive behaviours but also in global planning process stems from the fact that dynamic changes are typically not completely random and follow spatiotemporal patterns. 4. 4. Who is laughing now? Laughter-infused dialogue systems

    Författare :Vladislav Maraev; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; laughter; dialogue systems; humour; machine learning; reasoning; natural language processing; artificial agents;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis paves the way for including laughter in spoken dialogue systems in a domain-general and linguistically valid way using computational linguistics tools and methods. The thesis is concerned with three main areas. The first area concerns the placement of laughter in relation to speech and other behaviours. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Too tired to talk? Sleep, fatigue, and social functioning

    Författare :Benjamin C Holding; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Sleep has been shown to have many health promoting functions, and is vital for the maintenance of physiological, cognitive, and emotional well-being. Much of what we know about sleep derives from studies showing what happens when individuals do not obtain sufficient sleep. LÄS MER
