  1. 1. Online Sexual Behaviours Among Swedish Youth : Characteristics, Associations and Consequences

    Författare :Linda S. Jonsson; Carl Göran Svedin; Margareta Hydén; Cathrine Hamilton-Giachritsis; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Online; Internet; sexual behaviour; selling sex; sexting; youth; adolescents;

    Sammanfattning : Online sexual behaviours refer to sexual activities where the Internet and/or mobile phone are used. The aims of this thesis were to investigate young people and their experiences of different online sexual behaviours with regard to characteristics, associations and consequences, by using data from a representative sample of 3,503 Swedish youth (m= 18. 2. 2. Cell-autonomous and paracrine mechanisms underlying Pik3ca-driven vascular malformations

    Författare :Milena Petkova; Taija Mäkinen; Ebba Bråkenhielm; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; PI3K; PI3KCA; lymphatic malformations; H1047R;

    Sammanfattning : Vascular malformation is a benign overgrowth of blood or lymphatic vessels leading to life-threatening consequences for affected patients. Activating mutations in the TIE2 receptor cause the majority of venous malformations (VMs), while somatic activating mutations in PIK3CA, leading to the overactivation of the PI3K-AKT pathway, cause both VMs and lymphatic malformations (LMs). 3. 3. Beyond GWAS : Novel Methods and Resources for Genetic Epidemiology

    Författare :Daniel Schmitz; Åsa Johansson; Tuuli Lappalainen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; GWAS; NGS; long-read sequencing; mendelian randomization; WGS; CNVs;

    Sammanfattning : Since the first human genome assembly’s release, our knowledge of the genetic architecture of complex traits and diseases has grown steadily. Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) played a major role but are limited to common traits and single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). LÄS MER

  5. 5. Evaluation of biomedical microwave sensors : Microwave sensors as muscle quality discriminators in laboratory and pilot clinical trial settings

    Författare :Viktor Mattsson; Robin Augustine; Mauricio Perez; Roger Karlsson; Ayca Özcelikkale; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Microwave sensors; Sarcopenia; Muscle quality assessment; Biomedical applications; Tissue dielectric properties; Data-driven modelling; Clinical trials; EM Simulations; Phantom experiments; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektronik; Engineering Science with specialization in Electronics;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis the primary focus is on the evaluation of biomedical microwave sensor to be used in the muscle analyzer system. Lower muscle quality is one indicator that a patient can have sarcopenia. Therefore the muscle analyzer system can be a tool used in screening for sarcopenia. LÄS MER
