  2. 27. Touching the Essence of Life : Haptic Virtual Proteins for Learning

    Författare :Petter Bivall; Anders Ynnerman; Lena A. E. Tibell; Matthew D. Cooper; Miriam Reiner; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Haptics; Educational Research; Biomolecular Education; Life Science; JND; Just Noticeable Difference; Protein-ligand Docking; Haptic docking; Visualization; Haptic Transfer Functions; Volume Data Haptics; History Dependent Transfer Function; Log file analysis; Molecular Recognition; Force Feedback; Virtual Reality; Other information technology; Övrig informationsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation presents research in the development and use of a multi-modal visual and haptic virtual model in higher education. The model, named Chemical Force Feedback (CFF), represents molecular recognition through the example of protein-ligand docking, and enables students to simultaneously see and feel representations of the protein and ligand molecules and their force interactions. 4. 29. Limitations on efficiency, size and bandwidth of small antennas

    Författare :Daniel Nyberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; log-periodic antennas; Small antennas; folded dipoles; radiation Q; fundamental limitations; bandwidth;

    Sammanfattning : The allocated space in a mobile phone for the antennas has become smaller and smaller following the size reduction of the mobile phones themselves and the integration of more functions in them. At the same time new communication systems are being planned where such small antennas also need to be wideband (UWB systems) or have multiple ports (MIMO systems). LÄS MER

  5. 30. Characterization, toxicity and treatment of wood leachate generated outdoors by the wood-based industry

    Författare :Henric Svensson; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; Wood leachate; Log yard runoff; Stormwater; Toxicity; Artemia salina; Vibrio fischeri; Constructed wetlands; Forestry and Wood Technology; Skog och träteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Wood is a natural raw material, and would hardly be considered a risk to the environment. However, the handling of wood materials on an industrial scale has been shown to have a negative impact on water bodies that run-off from industrial sites that process wood-based materials. LÄS MER
