  1. 1. On bacterial formats in protein library technology

    Författare :Per-Åke Löfdahl; Per-Åke Nygren; Mikael Widersten; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Affibody molecule; β-lactamase; combinatorial library; green fluorescent protein GFP ; protein engineering; protein fragment complementation assay PCA ; selection; TEVprotease; TNF-α; Bioengineering; Bioteknik; Enzyme engineering; Enzymteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Millions of years of evolution have resulted in an immense number of different proteins, which participate in virtually every process within cells and thus are of utmost importance for allknown forms of life. In addition, there are several examples of natural proteins which have found use in applications outside their natural environment, such as the use of enzymes infood industry and washing powders or the use of antibodies in diagnostic, bioseparation or therapeutic applications. 2. 2. The CD40 Receptor - Target,Tool and Technology

    Författare :Peter Ellmark; Institutionen för immunteknologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Immunology; serology; transplantation; Immunologi; serologi; SPIRE; mammalian; library; cDNA; selection; receptor revision; phage display; scFv; human; CD40; antibodies;

    Sammanfattning : CD40 is a cell surface receptor of pivotal importance that is expressed on several of the cells in the immune system. It is critical for many important events, such as T cell dependent B cell activation, isotype switching, somatic mutation and generation of B cell memory. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Molecular Recognition in Antibody Engineering. Studies on recombinant and phage displayed antibodies

    Författare :Ann-Christin Malmborg Hager; Institutionen för immunteknologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; transplantation; affinity; antibody; kinetic; Immunologi; serologi; serology; Immunology; Bioteknik; Biotechnology; library; selection; surface display; phage display; association rate; dissociation rate;

    Sammanfattning : In vitro generation of antibody fragments of desired specificity and affinity plays an important role since it permits the generation of reagents which may be valuable for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Furthermore, the kinetic parameters for an antibody-antigen interaction, rather than the affinity, has shown to correlate with biological functions like virus neutralization. LÄS MER

  4. 4. CRISPR based technologies for high-throughput metabolic engineering of yeast

    Författare :Christos Skrekas; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cloning; Saccharomyces cerevisiae; enrichment; metabolic engineering; selection; library; screening; CRISPR; directed evolution;

    Sammanfattning : The yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae is a commonly used microorganism for metabolic engineering applications since it has a very well-studied metabolism and it can be easily genetically modified. This led to its use as a cell factory for the production of a wide variety of industrially relevant chemicals such as fuels, cosmetics and food additives. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Subject retrieval in web-based library catalogs

    Författare :Koraljka Golub; Jadranka Lasić-Lazić; Department of Information Science Filozofski fakultet u Zagrebu; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; British university libraries; Croatian university libraries; Indexing and retrieval systems; Online library catalogs; Subject access points; Subject retrieval; User interface; User search behavior; WebPACs; Library and Information Science; Biblioteks- och informationsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis has been motivated by past research, problems and realizations that online library catalog users frequently perform subject searches – using keywords, subject headings and descriptors – and these searches have yielded unsatisfactory results. Web-based catalogs or WebPACs (Web-based Online Public Access Catalogs), belonging to the so-called third generation of online catalogs and providing a wide variety of search options, remain largely underutilized despite the continuous advancement of information retrieval systems.
