  1. 16. Immunoregulation and immunogenetics of monophasic and relapsing experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis with emphasis on cytokines

    Författare :Shohreh Issazadeh; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) is a CD4+ T cell mediated autoimmune disease of the central nervous system (CNS) that resembles multiple sclerosis (MS). An MS-like histopathology and disease course can be provoked by immunization of susceptible animals with inoculum containing CNS antigens. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Novel Immunotherapies and Immunoregulation in a Chronic Inflammatory Disease of the Central Nervous System

    Författare :Shahram Lavasani; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Neurologi; neurophysiology; neuropsychology; Neurology; Djurfysiologi; Animal physiology; probiotics; immunotherapy; CD1; T-cell; CNS; inflammation; EAE; MS; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory disease of central nervous system (CNS) which is thought to arise from a breakdown of immunological tolerance in CD4 cells. The aim of this thesis is to improve our understanding of regulation mechanisms of T cell-dependent chronic inflammation in the CNS and explore ways to overcome the onset and progression of the disease, which can be an important step forward in the treatment of MS. 3. 18. Preterm birth and allergic disease

    Författare :Niki Mitselou; Jonas Ludvigsson; Erik Melén; Kari Christine Nadeau; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Allergen-specific immunotherapy; allergic rhinitis; caesarean delivery; epidemiology; preterm birth; sensitization; paediatrics; pregnancy;

    Sammanfattning : Allergic diseases are very common in children and young adults, while there is an ongoing interest worldwide in exploring the early origins of these conditions. The perinatal period is considered crucial as it encompasses the maturation of gut microbiota and the establishment of an efficient immunoregulation. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Fc receptors and feedback regulation by antibodies

    Författare :Mikael Karlsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Genetics; Mouse; B lymphocytes; Fc; receptors; IgG; IgE; FcgRI; FcgRII; FcgRIII; Fc e RI; CD23; Rh prophylaxis; Haemolytic disease of the newborn; Genetik; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik; Pathology; patologi;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this investigation was to determine the role of Fc receptors for IgG (FcγRI, FcγRIIB, FcγRIII and FcRn) in immunoregulation. IgG is known to enhance the response to soluble antigens such as bovine serum albumin whereas the response to particulate antigens is suppressed. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Experimental models with specific approaches to augment human fetal liver cell engraftment

    Författare :Pradeep B Patil; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Transplantation; Cell therapy; Animal models;

    Sammanfattning : Experimental models with specific approaches to augment human fetal liver cell engraftment Pradeep Patil Department of Surgery, Institute of Clinical Sciences, Sahlgrenska Academy at University of Gothenburg Background: Liver disease is a common cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Orthotopic liver transplantation has so far been the only available therapy for patients with end-stage liver failure. LÄS MER
