21. Non-Linear Vibration and Dynamic Fracture Mechanics of Bridge Cables
Sammanfattning : In the present work, the non-linear vibrations and the corresponding dynamic fracture mechanics of cables of cable-stayed bridges are studied. The cables are among the most critical components in cable-stayed bridges and there are different damage sources such as corrosion, vibration, fatigue and fretting fatigue that can significantly affect them, thereby reducing the cable’s service life and even producing their failure. 22. Essays on Manufacturing Production in a Developing Economy: Kenya 1992-94
Sammanfattning : The dissertation consists of five separate empirical papers based on panel data from Kenyan manufacturing firms in the food, wood, textile and metal sectors, collected during the early 1990s, and an overview of the economic literature on small firms in developing countries. The principal tools of analysis are the microeconomic theory of production and econometrics. LÄS MER
23. Aggressive lymphoma
Sammanfattning : Aggressive lymphoma is a rapidly growing tumour of lymphocyte origin, potentially curable with chemotherapy. In a trial by the Nordic Lymphoma Group, 405 patients with aggressive lymphoma were included, and randomised to receive either the standard chemotherapy regimen, CHOP, or a weekly multidrug regimen, MACOP-B. 24. Biological Inspired Deformable Image Sensor
Sammanfattning : Nowadays, cameras are everywhere thanks to the tremendous progress on sensor technology. However, their performance is far away from what we experience by our eyes. LÄS MER
25. Voltage Transients in the Field Winding of Salient Pole Wound Synchronous Machines : Implications from fast switching power electronics
Sammanfattning : Wound Field Synchronous Generators provide more than 95% of the electricity need worldwide. Their primacy in electricity production is due to ease of voltage regulation, performed by simply adjusting the direct current intensity in their rotor winding. LÄS MER
