  1. 21. Genetic influence on enantiomeric drug disposition : Focus on venlafaxine and citalopram

    Författare :Maria Kingbäck; Fredrik Kugelberg; Björn Carlsson; Martin Josefsson; Finn Bengtsson; Johan Ahlner; Anders Rane; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : A molecule that is not identical to its mirror image is said to be chiral. A racemic mixture, or a racemate, is one that has equal amounts of S- and R-enantiomers of a chiral molecule. Two examples of frequently prescribed racemic drugs are the antidepressants venlafaxine (VEN) and citalopram (CIT). LÄS MER

  3. 23. Developmental Aspects of Drug Transport Across the Blood-Brain Barrier

    Författare :Jörgen Bengtsson; Margareta Hammarlund-Udenaes; Ann-Cathrin Engwall; Sven Björkman; Elizabeth C.M. de Lange; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Blood-brain barrier; development; active transport; tight junction proteins; microdialysis; recovery; morphine; nitrofurantoin; Bcrp; microarray; real-time PCR; in vitro; in vivo; LC-MS MS; Biopharmacy; Biofarmaci; Pharmacokinetics and Drug Therapy; Farmakokinetik och läkemedelsterapi;

    Sammanfattning : The developmental aspect of drug transport across the blood-brain barrier (BBB) was investigated. Microdialysis was used to study unbound morphine BBB transport at different ages in sheep. An in vitro study was performed to find differentially expressed genes in brain capillary-rich fractions of the brain in rats of different ages. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Forensic Toxicological Aspects of Tramadol : Focus on Enantioselective Drug Disposition and Pharmacogenetics

    Författare :Pernilla Haage; Fredrik Kugelberg; Robert Kronstrand; Espen Molden; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : One of the most difficult parts in forensic toxicology is to interpret obtained drug concentrations. Was it therapeutic, toxic or even lethal to the particular individual that the blood sample was drawn from? Concentrations of opioid drugs are especially difficult to interpret, because of large interindividual differences in innate and acquired tolerance. LÄS MER

  5. 25. 2-acetylaminofluorene : metabolism and effects on drug-metabolizing enzymes

    Författare :Anders Åström; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : 2-Acetylaminofluorene has been found to have two different kinds of effects on drug-metabolizing enzymes in rat liver :1. Short-term treatment with this compound induces the level of microsomal epoxide hydrolase and cytochromes P-450b+e, c, d and PB/PCN-E, with a concominant increase in the metabolism of 2-acetylaminoflurene itself.
