1. Development of central catecholaminergic neuronal systems in the lizard Anolis sagrei
Sammanfattning : Catecholamines, comprising the neurotransmitters dopamine (DA), noradrenaline (NA) and adrenaline (A) are synthesized by specific enzymes (tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), dopamine ß-hydroxylase (DBH), phenylethanolamine-N-methyltransferase (PNMT)) in the central nervous system. The development and distribution of different catecholaminergic systems have been described in both the brain and retina of the lizard Anolis sagrei. LÄS MER
2. Design and Synthesis of 11C-Labelled Compound Libraries for the Molecular Imaging of EGFr, VEGFr-2, AT1 and AT2 Receptors : Transition-Metal Mediated Carbonylations Using [11C]Carbon Monoxide
Sammanfattning : This work deals with radiochemistry and new approaches to develop novel PET tracers labelled with the radionuclide 11C.Two methods for the synthesis of 11C-labelled acrylamides have been explored. LÄS MER
3. Brain Stem Involvement in Immune and Aversive Challenge
Sammanfattning : Activation of the immune system by e.g. bacteria induces the acute-phase-response and sickness behaviour. The latter encompasses among other things fever, lethargy, anorexia and hyperalgesia. LÄS MER
4. Experimental studies on the sources, pathways and targets for volume transmission in the rat brain
Sammanfattning : Volume transmission has been defined as the three-dimensional diffusion or convection of transmitters in the extracellular space (ECS) and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) over a larger distance than the synaptic cleft. The regional localization of dopamine (DA) nerve terminals and dopamine Dl and D2 receptors in nucleus accumbens were studied in detail using double immuno-labelling. LÄS MER
5. Immunocytochemical studies of cutaneous nerves in human normal and prurigo nodularis skin
Sammanfattning : Cutaneous nerves may regulate the immune system and be involved in inflammatory events of the skin. Prurigo nodularis is a skin disease which histologically reveals a massive neural hyperplasia and a local inflammation in the lesional skin. LÄS MER
