  1. 11. Prognostic impact of coronary microvascular funtion in patients with ischemic heart disease

    Författare :Inger Haraldsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; coronary microvascular function; coronary flow reserve; coronary artery disease; acute coronary syndromes; thrombus aspiration; pretreatment; SCAAR; SWEDHEART;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Ischemic heart disease is the leading cause of death globally. Despite recent advances in interventional and medical therapies, survivors of myocardial infarction are at high risk of recurrent cardiovascular events. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Atrial Fibrillation in the setting of Coronary Artery Disease : Risks and outcomes with different treatment options

    Författare :Gorav Batra; Jonas Oldgren; Gunnar Gislason; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; atrial fibrillation; coronary artery disease; acute coronary syndrome; myocardial infarction; percutaneous coronary intervention; coronary artery bypass grafting; antithrombotic therapy; angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors; angiotensin II receptor blockers; epidemiology; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the leading cause of mortality worldwide and atrial fibrillation (AF) is a prevalent arrhythmia associated with increased risk of mortality and morbidity. Despite improved outcome in both diseases, there is a need to further describe the prevalence, outcome and management of CAD in patients with concomitant AF. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Prevalence and Prognostic Impact of Periodontal Disease and Conventional Risk Factors in Patients with Stable Coronary Heart Disease

    Författare :Ola Vedin; Claes Held; Emil Hagström; Bertil Lindahl; Mai-Lis Hellenius; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Coronary heart disease; Secondary prevention; Prevention; Periodontal Disease; Tooth loss; Risk prediction; Risk factors; Myocardial infarction; Kardiologi; Cardiology;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis was to assess the prevalence and management of established cardiovascular (CV) risk factors and the prevalence and influence of self-reported markers (number of teeth and frequency of gum bleeding) of periodontal disease (PD), a less explored CV risk factor, in patients with stable chronic coronary heart disease (CHD).We studied patients from the global STabilization of Atherosclerotic plaque By Initiation of darapLadIb TherapY (STABILITY) trial (n=15,828), in which patients with stable chronic CHD were randomized to either darapladib or placebo. 4. 14. Impact of chronic total occlusions, arterial access site, and pretreatment with antiplatelet drugs on mortality in patients with ischemic heart disease: A report from the SWEDEHEART registry

    Författare :Christian Dworeck; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Acute coronary syndrome; acute myocardial infarction; coronary artery disease; mortality; chronic total occlusion; pretreatment; antiplatelet; P2Y12; radial access; PCI; SWEDEHEART; SCAAR; RIKS-HIA; cardiology;

    Sammanfattning : Impact of chronic total occlusions, arterial access site and pretreatment with antiplatelet drugs on mortality in patients with ischemic heart disease: A report from the SWEDEHEART registry Background Treatment of ischemic heart disease has advanced substantially in the past half-century. However, despite these achievements the survival rates in high-income countries such as Sweden have reached a plateau in the last decade. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Postoperative Atrial Fibrillation after Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting : Risk factors and clinical outcome

    Författare :Emma Thorén; Elisabeth Ståhle; Elmir Omerovic; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; atrial fibrillation; coronary artery bypass grafting; coronary artery disease; epidemiology; morbidity; mortality; outcome;

    Sammanfattning : Postoperative atrial fibrillation (POAF) is a common complication after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), and more knowledge is needed regarding prediction of POAF, the extent of early atrial fibrillation (AF) recurrence after discharge, and the associations between POAF and short and long-term overall and cause-specific mortality and morbidity.After CABG, 31-32% of all patients developed POAF.
