16. Engineering Yeast for Functional Analysis of Human Cu Transport Proteins
Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT Copper (Cu) is an important trace element that plays a vital role in several biological processes. Many proteins that are involved in various biochemical pathways require Cu as a cofactor. LÄS MER
17. Direct conversion of methane-to-methanol in Cu-exchanged small-pore zeolites
Sammanfattning : Fossil fuel consumption continuous to increase worldwide and of all the fossil fuels, natural gas is growing the most. The combustion of natural gas, which mainly contains methane, is more environmentally friendly than oil or coal thanks to its high specific energy. LÄS MER
18. Oxidative Dissolution of Spent Fuel and Release of Nuclides from a Copper/Iron Canister : Model Developments and Applications
Sammanfattning : Three models have been developed and applied in the performance assessment of a final repository. They are based on accepted theories and experimental results for known and possible mechanisms that may dominate in the oxidative dissolution of spent fuel and the release of nuclides from a canister. 19. Kinetics of proton and electron transfer in heme-copper oxidases
Sammanfattning : Heme-copper oxidases are transmembrane proteins that are found in aerobic and anaerobic respiratory chains. During aerobic respiration, these enzymes reduce dioxygen to water. The energy released in the reaction is used to transport protons across a biological membrane. LÄS MER
20. Hydraulic transport of mineral and ore products : friction losses of stratified flows at high solids concentrations
Sammanfattning : The overall objective of the work presented in this thesis was to investigate the hydraulic transport of mineral and ore products with regard to friction losses in horizontal pipelines at high solids concentrations. In detail, the objectives are to present and examine experimental pilotscale and large-scale friction loss results, and to investigate the performance of a scaling relationship for stratified slurry flows with regard to the effects of pipe diameter and solids concentration.
