  1. 21. Managing the risk for antagonistic threats against the transport network

    Författare :Daniel Ekwall; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; supply chain management; supply chain security; risk management; transport networks; crime prevention; Kvalitetsdriven logistik;

    Sammanfattning : The World Trade Centre terror attack in 2001 changed the world and with it the conditions for logistics worldwide. The aftermath of the attack brought needed attention to the vulnerability of modern supply chains. This thesis addresses the antagonistic threats that exploit the vulnerability in a supply chain. 2. 22. Construction, expression and evaluation of anti-keratin 8 single-chain antibody fragments

    Författare :Rozbeh Jafari; Birgitta Sundström; Jörgen Carlsson; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Single-chain antibody fragments; keratin 8; site-directed mutagenesis; heterologous expression; P. pastoris; design of experiments; multicellular tumor spheroids; immunotargeting; Biomedical Sciences; Biomedicinsk vetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Antibodies are glycoproteins specifically binding to a variety of antigens and today extensively used in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Carcinomas originate from epithelial tissues and are the most common forms of human malignancies. In the necrotic areas of carcinomas significant amounts of keratins (K) are found extracellularly. 3. 23. The effects of long chain alcohol blends on engine performance and spray characteristics in CI engines

    Författare :Josefine Preuss; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; spray characteristics; RME; drop-in bränslen; long chain alcohols; CI engine; HVO;

    Sammanfattning : Replacing fossil fuels with alternatives derived from renewable sources is one way of meeting society’s increasing need for mobility while also significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles with internal combustion engines. To facilitate such a replacement, this thesis presents optical spray studies and engine experiments conducted to evaluate the potential of blends of biomass-derived alcohols and vegetable oils to serve as drop-in fuels for compression ignition engines. 4. 24. Protein and lipid interactions within the respiratory chain : Studies using membrane-mimetic systems

    Författare :Tobias Nilsson; Peter Brzezinski; Petra Hellwig; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cytochrome c oxidase; ATP synthase; Bioenergetics; membrane-mimetics; Rcf1; liposomes; oxidative phosphorylation; lipids; protein-protein interactions; Biochemistry; biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : Energy conversion from nutrients to ATP is a vital process in cells. The process, called oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) is performed by a combination of membrane-bound proteins. These proteins have been studied in great detail in the past, however much is still unknown about how they interact with each other. LÄS MER

  5. 25. SAWING STRATEGIES FOR TROPICAL HARDWOOD SPECIES : Simulation studies based on industrial conditions of Mozambique

    Författare :Pedro Ah Shenga; Dick Sandberg; Olof Broman; Mats Nylinder; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sawing strategies; tropical hardwood species; simulation; volume yield; log grading; umbila; jambirre; Träteknik; Wood Science and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The harvesting of Mozambique tropical hardwood species is considerable higher than the natural regrowth in the forest and the stock is decreasing drastically. Therefore, it is important to improve the material recovery when the wood is refined (i.e., in sawing and further refinement to products such as joineries, furniture etc. LÄS MER
