    Författare :Joakim Rydell; Magnus Borga; Hans Knutsson; Göran Starck; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Magnetic resonance imaging MRI ; functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging fMRI ; spatial filtering; robust correlation estimation; correcting artifacts; Medical informatics; Medicinsk informatik;

    Sammanfattning : Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a very versatile imaging modality which can be used to acquire several different types of images. Some examples include anatomical images, images showing local brain activation and images depicting different types of pathologies. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Development of Automated Algorithms for Epicardial Adipose Tissue Analysis in Computed Tomography and their Application in Population Based Research

    Författare :David Molnar; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Epicardial adipose tissue; Artificial intelligence; Automatic analysis; Computed tomography; Coronary atherosclerosis; Pre-diabetes; Vector electrocardiography;

    Sammanfattning : The epicardial adipose tissue (EAT), which surrounds the heart and is separated from other tissues only by the thin layers of the pericardium, has enjoyed intense research for the past decades. Increased inflammatory activity in the EAT in coronary artery disease has, together with associated volumetric expansion of the EAT and changes in its radiodensity supported theories that the EAT might play a role in the pathogenesis of coronary atherosclerosis or mirror its progression better than traditional risk factors. 3. 13. Making Visible the Proximity Between Proteins

    Författare :Carl-Magnus Clausson; Ola Söderberg; Jens Coorssen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Proximity ligation assay; In situ PLA; rolling circle amplification; protein interaction; protein-protein interaction; in situ; single cell; single molecule; protein complex; antibody; cancer; tissue section; microscopy; image analysis; system biology; multiplex; dynamic range; methods development; systems biology; Molekylär medicin; Molecular Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Genomic DNA is the template of life - the entity which is characterized by a self-sustaining anatomical development, regulated signaling processes, the ability to reproduce and to respond to stimuli. Through what is classically known as the central dogma, the genome is transcribed into mRNA, which in turn is translated into proteins. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Multidimensional MRI  of Myocardial Dynamics : Acquisition, Reconstruction and Visualization

    Författare :Andreas Sigfridsson; Hans Knutsson; Sebastian Kozerke; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MRI; Cardiac motion; myocardial dynamics; strain; tensor; deformation; DENSE; k-t BLAST; Medical engineering; Medicinsk teknik;

    Sammanfattning : Methods for measuring deformation and motion of the human heart in-vivo are crucial in the assessment of cardiac function. Applications ranging from basic physiological research, through early detection of disease to follow-up studies, all rely on the quality of the measurements of heart dynamics. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Systematic analysis of a radiological diagnostic system : A method for application in the effective use of x-rays in intraoral radiology

    Författare :Ebba Helmrot; Mikael Karlsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : The effective use of an imaging system in diagnostic radiology implies an optimisation process. This demands knowledge and relevant descriptions of the various components, the X -ray units, the objects and receptors. LÄS MER
