  1. 21. Kinetic Measurements Using Nanoplasmonic Sensing

    Författare :Markus Schwind; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sn Nanoparticles; Sensing; Localized Surface Plasmon Resonances; Particle Plasmon; Metal Oxidation; Metal Corrosion; Solid-Liquid Phase Transition; Kinetics; Al Nanoparticles;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis the nanoplasmonic sensing technique was used to study kinetics of (i) the oxidation of Al nanoparticles in air and water and (ii) the solid-liquid phase transition in Sn nanoparticles. The nanoplasmonic sensing technique detects changes of the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) in metal nanoparticles. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Regioselective Heck Coupling Reactions : Focus on Green Chemistry

    Författare :Karl S. A. Vallin; Anders Hallberg; Mats Larhed; Walter Cabri; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; Medicinal Chemistry; läkemedelskemi;

    Sammanfattning : Carbon-carbon bond formation reactions are among the most important processes in chemistry, as they represent key steps in the synthesis of more complex molecules from simple precursors. This thesis describes mainly the development of novel regioselective applications of the mild and versatile palladium-catalyzed carbon-carbon coupling method, commonly known as the Heck reaction. 3. 23. Heterogeneous TiO2 Photocatalysis : Fundamental Chemical Aspects and Effects of Solid Phase Alterations

    Författare :Veronica Diesen; Mats Jonsson; Hynd Remita; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Heterogeneous photocatalysis on TiO2 is an emerging green technology for water disinfection. The rationale for this technology is based on in-situ generation of highly reactive transitory species for degradation of organic and inorganic pollutants as well as microorganisms. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : In the first part of this thesis, palladium(0)-catalyzed and -mediated carbonylations are discussed. Paper I describes a new method for the safe, efficient use of a solid carbon monoxide source in the synthesis of primary and secondary benzamides. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Analytical method development for ultra-trace determination of human pharmaceuticals in aqueous samples. Assessing the performance of a sewage treatment plant

    Författare :Saioa Zorita; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; molecularly imprinted solid-phase extraction; Sample preparation; solid-phase extraction; membrane extraction; human pharmaceuticals; sewage treatment plant; steroid hormones;

    Sammanfattning : Research focus in environmental pollution has recently been extended from more classical environmental pollutants such as PCBs or pesticides to pharmaceuticals and steroid hormones, which are designed to be biologically active and enter the environment primarily through regular domestic use. Consequently, it is important to monitor these substances concentrations in the effluents of sewage treatment plants (STPs) and in the environment in order to evaluate their associated risks. LÄS MER
