  1. 6. Clinical and Experimental Studies in Primary Sjögren’s Syndrome and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

    Författare :Gunnel Nordmark; Lars Rönnblom; Olle Kämpe; Ola Winqvist; Lennart Jacobsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine; Sjögren’s syndrome; SLE; α-fodrin; interferon-α; single nucleotide polymorphism; dehydroepiandrosterone; Medicin; Dermatology and venerology; clinical genetics; internal medicine; Dermatologi och venerologi; klinisk genetik; invärtesmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Autoimmune mechanisms and genetic susceptibility contribute to the pathogenesis of primary Sjögren’s syndrome and SLE. These chronic systemic autoimmune diseases have many serological and clinical features in common and have an impact on daily life. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Immunopathogenic mechanisms in primary Sjögren’s syndrome

    Författare :Albin Björk; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Primary Sjögren’s syndrome is a systemic autoimmune disease primarily affecting salivary and lacrimal glands, but patients may also have other organ involvement. Development of Sjögren’s syndrome has been associated with genetic polymorphisms and aberrances in innate and adaptive immunity, which include abnormal B cell functions with autoantibody production, and increased activity of the interferon (IFN) system. Sammanfattning : This work was aimed at improving our understanding of the course of primary Sjögren's syndrome (SS). The Malmö SS patient register and the 2002 American-European Consensus Criteria formed the basis of all studies. Helicobacter pylori (H. LÄS MER

  4. 9. The relationship between inflammation and structural changes in the airways of the lower and upper respiratory tract : Studies in patients with asthma, Sjögren's syndrome, rhinitis and children with otitis media with effusion

    Författare :Kawa Amin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cell biology; bronchial hyperresponsiveness; inflammatory cells; asthma; rhinitis; Sjögren s syndrome; children with otitis media with effusion; immunohistochemistry; Cellbiologi; Cell biology; Cellbiologi; medicinsk cellbiologi; Medical Cell Biology;

    Sammanfattning : The pathophysiology of asthma, Sjögrens syndrome (SS), rhinitis, and otitis media with effusion (OME) in children has been extensively investigated in upper and lower respiratory tract, respectively, and shown to comprise structural changes in the airways and involvement of inflammatory cells. By comparing diseases that have bronchial hyperresponsivenses or mucosal inflammation as a common denominator, it may be possible to learn more about the mechanisms underlying inflammation in the upper and lower respiratory tract. 5. 10. Renal disease in primary Sjögren's syndrome

    Författare :Per Eriksson; Ulla Backman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Primary Sjögren's syndrome (SS) is characterised by inflammation in the lacrimal and salivary glands. The kidneys may be involved, e.g. tubulointerstitial nephritis (TIN) and distal renal tubular acidosis (dRTA). LÄS MER
