31. Pollen analysis, chronology and palaeomagnetism of three Late Weichselian sites in southern Sweden
Sammanfattning : Three sites, Torreberga in Skåne, Farslycke in Blekinge and Lake Bolmen in Småland, with Late Weichselian lake sediments were studied with respect to pollen analysis and palaeomagnetism. The chronologies are based on pollen stratigraphical correlations, radiocarbon dating and, for two of the sites, on a clay-varve chronology. LÄS MER
32. Late Quaternary climate and environmental change in the summer rainfall region of South Africa : A study using trees and wetland peat cores as natural archives
Sammanfattning : This thesis contributes with information on past climate and environmental changes in South Africa’s summer rainfall region. The study is based on multi-proxy analyses on wetland peat cores and analyses of stable isotope composition (δ13C, δ18O) and wood anatomy in cross sections from subtropical trees (Breonadia salicina). 33. Blinded by the light : developing models of settlement and mobility with the use of spectroscopy and exploratory methods
Sammanfattning : In this thesis an exploratory approach has been used to study settlement and mobility among hunter-gatherer societies in Northern Sweden during the 2 000 – 0 BC period. The focus has been on developing the topics of bifacial point use and raw material management of quartzand quartzite materials. LÄS MER
34. Towards an Early Holocene Tephrochronology for the Faroe Islands: Methodology and first results
Sammanfattning : The uncertainties regarding future climate change have put considerable notice to the climate variability following the Late Glacial-Holocene transition (ca. 13-9 ka BP) in the North Atlantic region as well as the forcing mechanisms behind climate changes. LÄS MER
35. Unguja Ukuu on Zanzibar : An archaeological study of early urbanism
Sammanfattning : This study describes archaeological excavations carried out at Unguja Ukuu on the main island of Zanzibar, Tanzania.
