  1. 6. Biomaterial Components Prepared by Titanium Powder Technology

    Författare :Mikael Eriksson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; dental; coping; biomaterial; titanium-hydroxyapatite composite; crown; cold isostatic pressing; deformation; titanium powder; high velocity compaction; powder metallurgy;

    Sammanfattning : The main objectives of this work were twofold: First, to determine if a pressed-powder method could be used to fabricate titanium dental copings, and to line out what problems or benefits this new method would have. Second, to test if high velocity compaction of titanium powder could be used to form biomaterial components such as copings or dental implants. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Powder mechanics and dispersion properties of adhesive mixtures for dry powder inhalers : Conceptualized as a blend state model

    Författare :Jonas Rudén; Göran Alderborn; Göran Frenning; Tobias Bramer; Kyrre Thalberg; Regina Scherliess; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Inhalation; Dry Powder Inhaler; adhesive mixture; aerosols; powder mechanics; dispersibility; aerosolization; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Inhaled medicines is a therapy that dates back several thousands of years. Nowadays, using various types of inhaler devices to deliver active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) to treat respiratory diseases has become common practice. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Improved high velocity cold copaction processing : polymer powder to high performance parts

    Författare :Bruska Azhdar; Sture Persson; Cornell Nicolescu; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; high-velocity compaction; powder polymers; polyamide-11; relaxation assist; compactibility; relative green density; morphology; pull-out; springback; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Sammanfattning : A uniaxial High-Velocity Compaction (HVC) process for polymer powder using a cylindrical, hardened steel die and a new technique with relaxation assist was tested with a focus on the compactibility characteristics and surface morphology of the compacted materials using various heights of relaxation assist device with different compacting profiles. Relaxation assist device was presented as a new technique to reduce springback, pull-out phenomenon and to improve the compaction process. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Surface Interactions in Powder Injection Moulding

    Författare :Elisabeth Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; surfactants; powder injection moulding PIM ; rheology; steel powder; surface interactions; XPS; SIMS; adsorption; surface composition;

    Sammanfattning : Powder Injection Moulding (PIM) is an attractive technique for producing complex components in large quantities my means of powder technology. The process includes mixing powder with a suitable binder, usually a thermoplastic polymer. Because of the large attractive forces between small particles the powder can be agglomerated in the binder. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Characteristics and Sintering of Fine Water-atomized and Carbonyl Iron Powder

    Författare :Johan Wendel; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sintering; powder metallurgy; iron powder; dilatometry; surface analysis; thermal analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Various types of iron powder are extensively used in the powder metallurgy (PM) industry. Water-atomized iron powder is commonly used as the base in many low-alloyed steel products manufactured through the conventional 'press and sinter' route, while carbonyl iron powder is often used for metal injection moulded (MIM) components.
