  1. 1. On Tool Failure in Die Casting

    Författare :Anders Persson; Sture Hogmark; Jens Bergström; Torsten Eriksson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; materialvetenskap; Materials Science;

    Sammanfattning : Die casting is a very cost-efficient method of forming thin-walled and complex near net-shaped products with close geometric tolerances and good surface finish. A permanent die tool is used to make large quantities of identical products. The performance and tool life are limited by several mechanisms, e.g. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Bringing power and knowledge together : information systems design for autonomy and control in command work

    Författare :Per-Arne Persson; Sture Hägglund; Henrik Eriksson; James M. Nyce; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ethnographic; army command organizations; military; rationality of practice; design work; autonomy; events-frictions-and power; viable system; freedom of action; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : THIS THESIS PRESENTS an empirical ethnographic study that has been conducted as fieldwork within army command organizations, leading to a qualitative analysis of data. The title of the thesis captures the contents of both command work and research, both domains being affected by new technologies during a period of drastic changes in the military institution. 3. 3. On the Mechanisms behind the Tribological Performance of Stellites

    Författare :Daniel H. E. Persson; Sture Hogmark; Staffan Jacobson; Mikael Olsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Stellite; Co-based; phase transformation; fcc; hcp; texture; alignment; low-friction; laser cladding; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis reveals the tribological mechanisms behind the intrinsic low friction potential of the Co-based family of alloys called Stellites. Although being an established and important group of materials, a satisfactory explanation to why they exhibit low-friction properties under severe sliding conditions has not previously been found in the literature. 4. 4. Envisioning a Future Decision Support System for Requirements Engineering : A Holistic and Human-centred Perspective

    Författare :Beatrice Alenljung; Anne Persson; Sture Hägglund; Pär Carlshamre; Per Ågerfalk; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Requirements engineering; decision-making; decision support systems; RE decision-making; RE decision support; Informatics; Informatik; Informatics and systems science; Teknik;

    Sammanfattning : Complex decision-making is a prominent aspect of requirements engineering (RE) and the need for improved decision support for RE decision-makers has been identified by a number of authors in the research literature. The fundamental viewpoint that permeates this thesis is that RE decision-making can be substantially improved by RE decision support systems (REDSS) based on the actual needs of RE decision-makers as well as the actual generic human decision-making activities that take place in the RE decision processes. 5. 5. Improved high velocity cold copaction processing : polymer powder to high performance parts

    Författare :Bruska Azhdar; Sture Persson; Cornell Nicolescu; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; high-velocity compaction; powder polymers; polyamide-11; relaxation assist; compactibility; relative green density; morphology; pull-out; springback; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Sammanfattning : A uniaxial High-Velocity Compaction (HVC) process for polymer powder using a cylindrical, hardened steel die and a new technique with relaxation assist was tested with a focus on the compactibility characteristics and surface morphology of the compacted materials using various heights of relaxation assist device with different compacting profiles. Relaxation assist device was presented as a new technique to reduce springback, pull-out phenomenon and to improve the compaction process. LÄS MER
