  1. 16. Biosynthesis, Processing, and Sorting of Human Neutrophil Granule Proteins. Focus on Cathepsin G, Proteinase 3, and Azurocidin

    Författare :Daniel Garwicz; Avdelningen för hematologi och transfusionsmedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Hematologi; extracellular fluids; Haematology; differentiation; bone marrow progenitor cells; preproform; mutations; Cell lines; transfection; extracellulära vätskor;

    Sammanfattning : The neutrophil granulocyte contains a number of multifunctional proteins stored in different subsets of granules. The azurophil granules, synthesized early during differentiation, harbour leukocyte elastase, cathepsin G, proteinase 3, and azurocidin; the members of the serprocidin family. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Urban Processes and Global Competition. Enabling factors for mutual urban and economic development Norra Älvstranden in Göteborg

    Författare :Bo Öhrström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; enabling; institutional conditions; urban financing; competitive advantage; economic development; reflexivity; triple helix; governance; urban growth node; urban development; facilitation; cluster; system of innovation; guided development;

    Sammanfattning : Planning and re-development of the former shipyard and harbour areas in Göteborg represent an attempt where the new urban web is anchored in a corresponding development of user needs. This thesis examines the conditions for urban planning and development of an urban growth node in the form of an innovative cluster at Lindholmen. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Diazotrophy and diversity of benthic cyanobacteria in tropical coastal zones

    Författare :Karolina Bauer; Birgitta Bergman; Paul K. Hayes; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Marine cyanobacteria; benthic nitrogen fixation; diversity; diazotrophy; Lyngbya majuscula; Zanzibar; western Indian Ocean; Plant physiology; Växtfysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Discoveries in recent years have disclosed the importance of marine cyano-bacteria in the context of primary production and global nitrogen cycling. It is hypothesized here that microbial mats in tropical coastal habitats harbour a rich diversity of previously uncharacterized cyanobacteria and that benthic marine nitrogen fixation in coastal zones is substantial. 4. 19. Sediment remediation using activated carbon: amending knowledge gaps

    Författare :Robert A. Rämö; Jonas S. Gunnarsson; Agnes M. L. Karlson; Francisco J. A. Nascimento; Barbara Beckingham; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; sediment contamination; sediment remediation; sorbent amendment; activated carbon; benthic community; macroinvertebrates; Baltic Sea; Marine Ecotoxicology; marin ekotoxikologi;

    Sammanfattning : Many coastal sediments have accumulated large quantities of contaminants from past anthropogenic activities and now act as a secondary emission source of legacy pollutants to coastal ecosystems. New sediment remediation strategies are needed to address widespread sediment pollution. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Drivers of soil fungal communities in boreal forests : feedbacks on soil fertility and decomposition

    Författare :Erica Sterkenburg; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Boreal forests harbour diverse fungal communities with decisive roles in decomposition and plant nutrition. Difficulties in studying soil fungi have limited knowledge about how fungal communities are shaped. LÄS MER
