    Sammanfattning : This is a descriptive study of communicative strategies used by fifteen deaf preschool children. Five of the children had early sign language experience (ESL), while ten had late sign language experience (LSL). Seven of the LSL children had been orally trained. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Emotional interplay and communication with patients diagnosed with schizophrenia was studied in clinical interviews. Fifty-one video recorded interviews were conducted by two psychologists with nine patients. Qualitative and quantitative methods were used in three successive studies. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The subject matter of this dissertation is children’s use and development of emotive expressions. While prior studies have either focused on facial expressions of emotions or on emotions in the social mechanisms of in situ interactions, this thesis opts to merge two traditions by applying an interactional approach to the interpretation of child–child and child–adult encounters. The aim of the dissertation can be expressed in four questions:• What ideas about the deaf and his or her education were influential during various time periods from 1809 to 1990 and what were the reactions of the deaf to the influence of these ideas?• What were the opinions of the teachers on introduction of bilingual education?• What was the pattern of communication in the schools for the deaf when bilingual education was introduced?• What function is fulfilled by bilingualism in the recognition of the deaf from an equality perspective?Four historical periods are analysed.     Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to examine honor conflicts that arose between girls with Swedish-foreign origin and their parents, but also to explore an honor conflict that resulted in an extreme form of violent crime, namely the murder of a young girl.
