  1. 1. Towards Designing Better Speech Agent Interaction : Using Eye Gaze for Interaction

    Författare :Razan Jaber; Barry Brown; Donald McMillan; Kerstin Fischer; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Human-computer interaction; Conversational User Interfaces; Smart Speaker; Gaze Interaction; User Studies; Interaction Design; Gaze Detection; Agent Interaction; Wizard-of-Oz; data- och systemvetenskap; Computer and Systems Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : This research is about addressing the need to better understand interaction with conversational user interfaces (CUIs) and how human-technology `conversations' can be improved by drawing on the lessons learned from human-human interaction. It focuses on incorporating abstractions of complex human behaviour, specifically gaze, to enhance interactions with speech agents in conversations. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The Informed Gaze : On the Implications of ICT-Based Surveillance

    Författare :Baki Cakici; Magnus Boman; Nina Wormbs; Markus Bylund; Harald Rohracher; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ICT; discourse; surveillance; design; sustainability; outbreak detection; Computer and Systems Sciences; data- och systemvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Information and communication technologies are not value-neutral. I examine two domains, public health surveillance and sustainability, in five papers covering: (i) the design and development of a software package for computer-assisted outbreak detection; (ii) a workflow for using simulation models to provide policy advice and a list of challenges for its practice; (iii) an analysis of design documents from three smart home projects presenting intersecting visions of sustainability; (iv) an analysis of EU-financed projects dealing with sustainability and ICT; (v) an analysis of the consequences of design choices when creating surveillance technologies. 3. 3. Joint Attention in Development : Insights from Children with Autism and Infant Siblings

    Författare :Emilia Thorup; Terje Falck-Ytter; Gustaf Gredebäck; Peter Mundy; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Autism Spectrum Disorder; Joint Attention; Gaze following; Alternating gaze; Social cognition; Eye tracking; Infant siblings; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Compared to other children, children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are known to engage less in joint attention - the sharing of attention between two individuals toward a common object or event. Joint attention behaviors - for example gaze following, alternating gaze, and pointing - play an important role in early development, as they provide a foundation for learning and social interaction. 4. 4. Observing and influencing preferences in real time. Gaze, morality and dynamic decision-making

    Författare :Philip Pärnamets; Kognitionsvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; eye gaze; morality; decision-making; preference formation; embodied cognition;

    Sammanfattning : Preference formation and choice are dynamic cognitive processes arising from interactions between decision-makers and their immediate choice environment. This thesis examines how preferences and decisions are played out in visual attention, captured by eye-movements, as well as in group contexts. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Investigations or perimetry and gaze-stability in healthy and deceased retina

    Författare :Fredrik Källmark; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Microperimetry; fixation gaze pattern; scanning laser ophthalmoscope; visual field; scotoma; eclipse retinopathy.;

    Sammanfattning : Our visual world is composed of images of colours, textures, edges and contrasts. In addition, these images may be moving or flickering. The goal of visual testing is to quantify these functions. LÄS MER
