  1. 1. Tracking the Mind's Eye : Eye movements during mental imagery and memory retrieval

    Författare :Roger Johansson; Kognitionsvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Mental Imagery; Eye Movements; Eye-tracking; Encoding; Recall; Memory Retrieval; Episodic Memory;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the relationship between eye movements, mental imagery and memory retrieval in four studies based on eye-tracking experiments. The first study is an investigation of eye movements during mental imagery elicited both visually and verbally. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Predictive Eye Movements During Action Observation in Infancy : Understanding the Processes Behind Action Prediction

    Författare :Dorota Green; Gustaf Gredebäck; Claes von Hofsten; Bennet I. Bertenthal; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Action prediction; action understanding; eye movements; eye-tracking; culture; infnacy; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Being able to predict the goal of other people’s actions is an important aspect of our daily lives. This ability allows us to interact timely with others and adjust our behaviour appropriately.The general aim of the present thesis was to explore which processes best explain our ability to predict other people’s action goals during development. 3. 3. Changing the servicescape : The influence of music, self-disclosure and eye gaze on service encounter experience and approach-avoidance behavior

    Författare :Pernille Andersson K; Per Kristensson; Erik Wästlund; Anders Gustafsson; Lars-Olof Johansson; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; Servicescape; Approach Avoidance; Emotions; Social impression; Consumer behavior; Encounter experience; Music; Self-disclosure; Eye gaze; Retail; Psykologi; Psychology;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis is to investigate and understand the effect of a servicescape’s ambient and social conditions on consumers’ service encounter experience and their approach/avoidance behavior in a retail context. In three papers, with a total sample of over 1600 participants (including 550 actual consumers) and seven experiments, the author investigates the effect of music (ambient stimuli), employees’ self-disclosure (verbal social stimuli) and employees’ gazing behavior (nonverbal social stimuli) on consumers’ service encounter experience and approach/avoidance behavior in a retail store. 4. 4. Joint Attention in Development : Insights from Children with Autism and Infant Siblings

    Författare :Emilia Thorup; Terje Falck-Ytter; Gustaf Gredebäck; Peter Mundy; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Autism Spectrum Disorder; Joint Attention; Gaze following; Alternating gaze; Social cognition; Eye tracking; Infant siblings; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Compared to other children, children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are known to engage less in joint attention - the sharing of attention between two individuals toward a common object or event. Joint attention behaviors - for example gaze following, alternating gaze, and pointing - play an important role in early development, as they provide a foundation for learning and social interaction. 5. 5. Off-line Foveated Compression and Scene Perception: An Eye-Tracking Approach

    Författare :Marcus Nyström; Humanistlaboratoriet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; gaze prediction; off-line foveation; scene perception; eye-tracking; compression;

    Sammanfattning : With the continued growth of digital services offering storage and communication of pictorial information, the need to efficiently represent this information has become increasingly important, both from an information theoretic and a perceptual point of view. There has been a recent interest to design systems for efficient representation and compression of image and video data that take the features of the human visual system into account. LÄS MER
