  1. 6. Form & Formlessness : Questioning aesthetic abstractions through art projects, cross-disciplinary studies and product design education

    Författare :Cheryl Akner Koler; Edith Ackermann; Konstfack; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Aesthetics; Abstractions; Form; Design; Formgiving; Formlessness; Gestalt; Complexity; cross-disciplinary; Design; Design; Konst; Arts; Designdriven och gestaltande kunskapsproduktion; Designdriven och gestaltande kunskapsproduktion; Sensorium; rumsliga perceptioner; Sensorium; rumsliga perceptioner; Materiella kulturer; Materiella kulturer;

    Sammanfattning : This research is based on empirical, embodied studies aimed to generate and regenerate aesthetic reasoning through three approaches:an educational approach concerned with developing an aesthetic discipline, supporting a formgiving process aimed to create tangible artifacts.an art-based approach supporting an open exploration of distortion and formlessnessa multi-disciplinary exploratory approach concerned with aesthetic experiences shared in laborations demonstrating complexity and transformation. 2. 7. Creating space for action - Supporting behaviour change by making sustainable transport opportunities available in the world and in the mind

    Författare :Helena Strömberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; behaviour change; sustainable mobility; user-centred design; action space; travel behaviour; everyday transport;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of the work presented in this thesis is to contribute to the knowledge of how to create conditions for individuals to change their travel behaviour in a more sustainable direction. Earlier studies point to potential contributions through exploration of the individual’s process of behaviour change, addressing the role of the design of the transport system, as well as investigating the potential effects of enabling structural interventions within the transport system. 3. 8. Exploring the Aesthetics of Felt Time

    Författare :Elsa Kosmack Vaara; Kristina Höök; Cheryl Akner Koler; Anna Ståhl; Richard Harper; Caroline Hummels; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; time; temporality; felt; interaction; design; aesthetics; tid; temporalitet; känsla; estetik; design; interaktion; Människa-datorinteraktion; Human-computer Interaction;

    Sammanfattning : By building a felt time repertoire, designers can sensitively feed a sense of time into their design work. And this in turn can help them produce an interaction gestalt that is richer, more sensual. My research on this suggests that this is not entirely easy, however. One has to develop a ‘feel’ for time. 4. 9. Innovation under pressure : Reclaiming the micro-level exploration space

    Författare :Katarina Lund Stetler; Mats Magnusson; Jens Hemphälä; Salomo Sören; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Ambidexterity; exploration; exploitation; creativity; innovation; micro-level exploration space; operational level; operations; operational effectiveness; employee; lean; lean thinking; process management; streamlining; flow; Machine Design; Maskinkonstruktion;

    Sammanfattning : Research & Development (R&D) departments are becoming increasingly structured and routine-based, with tight schedules and daily follow-ups. This way of working stems from increased demands for delivering products to customers quickly and with high quality at a low price. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Noise design : Architectural Modelling and the Aesthetics of Urban Acoustic Spase

    Författare :Björn Hellström; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :architecture; music; aesthetics; sound art; acoustic space; sound design; sound effect; sound identity; sound morphology; graphic notation; sampling culture; acousmatics; metabolic effect; schizophonia;

    Sammanfattning : Noise Design takes up a structural approach to sound issuesin general and more particularly to urban acoustic space. Whilemost recent research efforts in the field adopt a defensiveattitude by seeking to protect people from sounds, this bookcelebrates our constructive and creative relations with thesound world and develops methods to manage sounds as mediatorsof qualitative information.
