  2. 17. The colour of climate : A study of raised bogs in south-central Sweden

    Författare :Anders Borgmark; Stefan Wastegård; Ann-Marie Robertsson; Bas van Geel; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Holocene; south-central Sweden; peat humification; bog hydrology; climate variation; spectral analysis; Quaternary geology; Kvartärgeologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on responses in raised bogs to changes in the effective humidity during the Holocene. Raised bogs are terrestrial deposits that can provide contiguous records of past climate changes. Information on and knowledge about past changes in climate is crucial for our understanding of natural climate variability. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Late Quaternary ice sheet history and dynamics in central and southern Scandinavia

    Författare :Timothy Johnsen; Helena Alexanderson; James T. Teller; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Scandinavian ice sheet; ice sheet dynamics; luminescence dating; cosmogenic exposure dating; geochronology; moraine; interstadial; deglaciation; nunatak; Quaternary geology; Kvartärgeologi; kvartärgeologi; Quarternary Geology;

    Sammanfattning : Recent work suggests an emerging new paradigm for the Scandinavian ice sheet (SIS); one of a dynamically fluctuating ice sheet. This doctoral research project explicitly examines the history and dynamics of the SIS at four sites within Sweden and Norway, and provides results covering different time periods of glacial history. 4. 19. Gjutningens arenor : Metallhantverkets rumsliga, sociala och politiska organisation i södra Skandinavien under bronsåldern

  5. 20. The Holocene Spread of Spruce in Scandinavia

    Författare :Thomas Giesecke; Keith Bennett; Richard Bradshaw; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Quaternary geology; Picea abies; pollen analyses; tree migration; population dynamics; Kvartärgeologi; Quaternary geology; Kvartärgeologi;

    Sammanfattning : The Holocene spread of Picea abies in Scandinavia provides an excellent opportunity for detailed study of the dynamics of tree spread and population expansion. Early- and mid-Holocene macrofossil evidence for the presence of Picea abies in Scandinavia has questioned traditional interpretations of the timing and direction of its spread. LÄS MER
